Did you know that moving workloads to AWS can lower your carbon footprint? A recent study by Accenture estimates that AWS’s infrastructure is up to 4.1 times more efficient than on-premises. By optimizing workloads on AWS, the associated carbon footprint can be reduced by up to 99%. Learn more about this study here: https://lnkd.in/gZbnvy7W

I'm fascinated to hear how Accenture can stand behind this study and put their name to something so lightweight. Can the Accenture team provide more substance and detail? Keen to understand how they've calculated this considering the lack of actual data and the projected giant increase in cloud providers emissions as they build the 100's of new data centres to support the on-premise workloads they want to consume

Got any actual facts to back this up? It’s provably greenwashing nonsense. AWS exclude up to 99% of their emissions from their reporting and most customers will increase emissions by moving to them. There is zero evidence to back up your claims and AWS stubbornly refuse to improve their carbon reporting.

Fixed your diagram for you with a recent example based on similar assumptions

I’m trying to understand how this is possible when a good portion of AWS’s strategy is focused on AI value creation. Without empirical data, this does sound like #greenwashing
