📝 I'm someone who makes a list for just about everything: project tasks, upcoming bills, household items... if something needs done, there's usually a list to go along with it. Now, merely making lot of lists isn't what creates order; it's your process that does. When it comes to creating my project task lists, I'm always testing out new approaches to refine how I stay organized. 🌐 The Sphere of Silence is a 60-minute practice that provides a perspective I've yet to encounter. It gives meaning to list making, going beyond the sole outcome of increasing productivity. The practice is broken up into three segments: goal setting, learning and growth, and mindfulness. All you need is your notebook, a pen, and that book you bought months ago you keep promising yourself you will start soon. And of course (as the name hints): absolute silence. Silence those devices. ✍️ In the goal setting segment, you write your short-term, medium-term, and long-term goals, assess their previous day progress, and end by analyzing the reasons why goals were not met. "The events of tomorrow develop from what you do today, so understanding yesterday is the key to shaping tomorrow." 📖 Now, for the learning and growth segment, go grab that book and get to reading. You'll spend half of this time actively reading and half writing a summary of what you read in the same notebook. "By writing down my learnings and insights, I was able to come up with action points to implement into my own life based on the ideas in the book." ☯️ The mindfulness segment rounds out the practice. The intention here is to be present to your feelings and explore what they mean. Approach this any way you like. Overall Takeaway: "Projecting the day in your mind before it begins, making decisions, and watching them manifest — all these things have a deeper purpose than simply taking control. When you see your vision come to life, this ultimately gives you confidence and a deeper understanding of who you are. You learn to trust yourself, are able to count on your decisions, and feel more secure amid the noise and uncertainties around you." #SphereofSilence #GoalSetting #LearningandGrowth #Mindfulness
Being silent allows you to declutter your thought process.
