Contributing to our "Keep a Child in School" fundraising effort is a step toward a better future. Imagine the effects of educating children and fostering their intellectual development. No child's education should be jeopardized; thus, every effort—no matter how small—is crucial. By working together, we are laying the groundwork for the future's knowledge, abilities, and possibilities. Together, let's rewrite people's futures because education is a fundamental right, not simply a privilege. Your kindness can change a child's life, allowing them to dream big and accomplish even greater things. Nigeria’s dual crisis with escalating insecurity and drastic climate changes, has significantly threatened agricultural development, food security, livelihoods, and economic stability. Women farmers encounter significant economic challenges, including limited access to markets, access to knowledge on sustainable farming practices and agricultural financing which not only hinder their productivity but also undermine efforts to build resilient agricultural systems. In response to these challenges and with support from the #EcoFeminist Movement Building Fund @Women Environmental Programme (WEP) WECF International, we are organizing a one-day training workshop to promote sustainable agricultural practices that are resilient and adaptable to climate change among women farmer groups in Gwagwalada Area Council, Abuja. The training will empower these women by equipping them with the necessary skills and resources to practice sustainable agriculture using agroecological principles that are environmentally friendly & promotes biodiversity. By so doing, we aim to enhance food security, increase productivity, improve livelihoods & strengthen the food system. Keep a date with us..... #FoodSystems #Sustainablefarming #Agroecology #Agroforestry #RegenerativeAgriculture

For the women of Wuna community in Gwagwalada Area Council of Abuja, theirs is a story of resilience in the daunting face of the changing climate. So much more that the chief had nothing but praises and admiration for them with some of them having the biggest farms in the community. For the women of Wuna, sustainable agriculture is them learning new trends and market / sector innovations happening around them. We intend to deliver on that outcome. #FoodSystems #SustainableAgriculture

As we warm up to an impactful training on sustainable farming practices that are resilient and adaptable to climate change & home gardening initiatives for women farming groups in Gwagwalada Area Council, we had an introductory meeting with the women from Passo community. It provided us with great opportunity to interact with these rural rural women in a bid to understand their reality and how our interventions can be better structured for a more lasting impact. Such mapping exercises are crucial to our work in ensuring our interventions not only meets the need of the target audience, but ensures that interventions gets to the needed beneficiaries. #FoodSystems #RegenerativeAgriculture #ClimateResilience #HomeGardening #CommunityGardening @ecofeminist movement building fund Women Environmental Programme (WEP) wep_ng WECF International

The media are critical stakeholders in the journey towards #GreenTransitions. We believe their influence can drive demand for organic, eco-friendly products, creating a market for green businesses and reinforcing the push for policy reforms. Their role is not just to report but to be advocates and partners in the collective mission of ensuring a food-secured, biodiverse, and environmentally conscious society. Hence, the collaboration between the media, government, and civil society like ours is essential to ensure the success of initiatives like Kogi State's green transition, ultimately contributing to the larger national and global goals for environmental sustainability. Day 3 Highlights! We wrapped up our workshop with a practical demonstration of bio-pesticides and bio-fertilizer preparation and application. It’s important that chemical application on our food production is eliminated as this transcends into our foods on the table. #GreenTransitions matters even in how we grow our food! Food security isn’t just food availability and accessibility but also the safety of it. Participants were encouraged to grow kitchen gardens in their homes and avoid mono-cropping. Dear Kogi, Nigeria, & Africa, Let’s grow green! #FoodSystems #FoodSafety #FoodSecurity #SustainableAgriculture #OrganicFarming #HomeGardens
