If more companies actually took steps to "grow the game" instead of just repeating the line over and over again, we would all be better for it. Golf consumers are starting to see through those empty words. Here is a simple equation: More golfers + more enjoyment = Increased demand across the industry Let's push each other to do more things that make people feel welcome, break down the cost barriers, and help people learn about this complicated game.
Today, in honor of The Masters, we gave away our kid's golf clubs for FREE. We announced on Instagram and TikTok that from 8am-3pm we would be giving away kid's club for free at the GolfRoots HQ here in Dallas, Texas. Sure enough, folks were waiting in the parking lot before 8, and people streamed in throughout the day. We love getting to share this game, and making golf accessible to kids is a great way to do it. Thank you to the members at our Partner Courses who make this possible. Stay tuned, there may be more to come in this space!

ENTREPRENEUR OF THE YEAR STAFFORDSHIRE UNIVERSITY BUSINESS AWARDS 2024 FLAVOUR MAKER ⭐️ ENTREPRENEUR ⭐️ ENABLER OF PEOPLE ⭐️ FEASTED FOUNDER & CEO ⭐️STORYTELLER⭐️TEDx Speaker
This Thursday it’s TEDxStaffordshireUniversity Time I am thrilled to be taking the stage to share my idea… Of course I’m not going spill the gastronomical beans before Thursday… but…I would like to share something today… My interest is in hospitality, place making and people. Specifically in how we enable people to develop their aspirations. Now, I’m going to share a story that is all too common in the conversations I have with young people. I meet some incredibly talented young people who have a profound love for food. To be accurate it’s their calling… So many of these young people are directed away from a career in hospitality as it’s not convenient for low aspiration to be desired by a student with higher academic potential. I don’t blame schools, although I could share a few stories I have experienced first hand. What I can say is it’s a huge PR challenge for hospitality… Hugely under staffed and undesired by many who want a career with solid prospects. A converstaion yesterday gave me incredible hope. A young man who is working partime with us who has been pushed away from hospitality and looking at becoming an engineer is thinking that an apprenticeship with F E A S T E D may be a valuable oppourtunity. His school didn’t feel they could support his learning in food studies and could only support him in a more academic route. He is gifted. He falls into the high functioning autism/ ADHD common in chefs. His knowledge is years above his peers. This applies to skills and contextual knowledge. Why is this not a good path for him? With great mentorship this young man can achieve great things. Like so many young chefs mentorship is often present. Within my TEDX Talk I hope to address this as I share my ‘big idea’ Hospitality can be an incredible career especially if we allow ourselves to realise its full potential to help those within it to develop their sense of ambition. It requires a sense of purpose and practice that is akin to other professions. A career pathway that engages and doesn’t put young people off. Please… all I ask is listen to this with curiosity #tedx #hospitality
With two weeks to go before the main event, we've had an enjoyable day with some of our TEDxStaffordshireUniversity speakers popping in to have a bit of a run through and rehearsal in The Catalyst at Staffordshire University. Thanks to Deborah McAndrew, Cris Cohen, Sharanya Urs, Catherine Flick, Nickki Barrett from Affordable Food Stoke, Andrew Edwards, Patryk Majewski and boxing champ Nathan Heaney, for their time today. Thanks also to my TEDx teamsters Klaudia Tomkowiak and Laura Allen for their work today as well as Martin Tideswell and John Hendy for their ongoing support and encouragement. 🎟 Tickets for the event on 16 May are sold out - but you can join the wait list here: https://lnkd.in/eXAd2QWw

Deciding when or if to sell a business is emotional and stressful. Our 3 step process provides owners with the confidence to know they are making the right decisions at the right time.
Here is the latest The Week That Was on our Inspiring Business page. The intentional mistake is buried in the copy. No one has been able to find it, as yet. No prize, just bragging rights. See if you can find it. #inspiringbusiness
𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐖𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟑𝟏 Each week we will put up 7 significant world events, one for each day. The point? For fun, interest, to see how the choices of a few has a huge impact on many. And because it reminds us here at Inspiring Business to leave early to enjoy the weekend. For fun we have made a deliberate error. Can you find it? No prize, just bragging rights. 𝟐𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟗𝟔𝟗 𝐌𝐢𝐝𝐧𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭 𝐂𝐨𝐰𝐛𝐨𝐲 was released in theatres, and the drama, which starred Jon Voight and Dustin Hoffman, went on to become the only X-rated film to win the Academy Award for best picture. Today that’s called Instagram :-) 𝟐𝟔𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟖𝟔𝟖 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐨𝐟 𝐔.𝐒. 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐀𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐰 𝐉𝐨𝐡𝐧𝐬𝐨𝐧 — who had been accused of, among other things, bringing “into disgrace, ridicule, hatred, contempt, and reproach the Congress of the United States”—ended with his acquittal in the Senate. How History repeats itself. There have only been 3 Presidents to be impeached. The other 2 were Bill Clinton and Donald Trump. Rarefied air indeed. 𝟐𝟕𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟔𝟔𝟎 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐂𝐨𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐡𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐧 between Sweden and Denmark-Norway was signed, concluding a generation of warfare between the two powers as well as helping to establish the modern boundaries of Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. 𝟐𝟖𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟗𝟏𝟐 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐭 𝐬𝐩𝐢𝐧 𝐛𝐨𝐰𝐥𝐞𝐫 𝐉𝐢𝐦𝐦𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐰𝐬 takes 2 hat-tricks on same day in Triangular Tournament v South Africa at Old Trafford (3/16, 3/38); only player to achieve the feat. 𝟐𝟗𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟗𝟗𝟗 𝐍𝐀𝐒𝐀'𝐬 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 became the second space shuttle to dock with the International Space Station. 𝟑𝟎𝐭𝐡 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟑𝟖𝟏 An unpopular poll tax helped spark the Peasants' Revolt, the first great popular rebellion in English history. 𝟑𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐲 𝟏𝟗𝟑𝟎 𝐓𝐨 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐀𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐧 𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐦𝐞 𝐃𝐨𝐧 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐦𝐚𝐧 batting for Australia v Hampshire at Southampton is 47 not out at stumps, bringing his aggregate to 1,001 runs, the first cricket touring overseas batsman to complete 1,000 runs by end of May. #inspiringbusiness #justforfun #JoyInBusiness

I watched 50+ golfers struggle yesterday. Here's the twist: They all had the right advice. 99% ignored it. The scene: Lancaster Country Club, The Host of the 2024 LPGA event Conditions: Brutal wind, 150-yard hole playing like 180 My advice: "Use your 180-yard club." Most players: • Nodded • Switched to their 165-yard club • Still came up short Why? It didn't look that far. They couldn't fully commit. Sound familiar? In business, we often: • Hear great advice • Partially implement it • Wonder why we're not seeing results The few who listened? On the green. Putting for birdie. Your challenge: Identify one piece of advice you've been half-following. Commit to it 100% this week. Watch what happens. What advice will you fully embrace? #BusinessStrategy #GrowthMindset #TakeAction #SethLewis
