Good Evening Everyone: As I slowly yet gradually make my way back to LinkedIn after nearing complete recovery after a major life event, I find that I am Catching Up on "Legal Articles Which I Appreciate." I've been doing quite a bit of reading in the past 1.5 years. In fact, a couple of years ago, I found an article emphasizing more inclusivity toward pathways to law. I am thrilled to see universities and law schools embracing diversity and inclusivity, especially during these trying times. Having recently graduated from a program at Pepperdine Carso School of Law myself, (Class of 2023), with an emphasis on Legal Studies and Alternative Dispute Resolution; I say we still today, need more legal professionals who can relate to the issues of people from different backgrounds and cultures. It's time for institutions to show their support and understanding of the power of diversity. Because, as times change which they always do, so will opinions as far as students and which school they may choose in the future once the tides have changed yet once again. That said, I am proud to say that my alma mater, Pepperdine Caruso School of Law, is leading the charge in this area. Thank you for shining so brightly and setting an example for other institutions to follow. Let's continue to strive for inclusivity and diversity in all aspects of our society. And I look forward to seeing such actions maintained, and even expanded, where funds allow. https://lnkd.in/gMWQjbgr #inclusivity #diversity #leadership #PepperdineUniversity #CarusoSchoolofLaw

Culture is by far the most important factor law students consider when selecting where to interview and which law firm’s offer to accept, outranking even compensation and advancement opportunities. Read the Yale Law Women+ (YLW+) annual Top Firms Report to find out what makes for a good law firm culture, according to these students: https://buff.ly/3S0qQZT The Top Firms Report stands for the commitment of YLW+ to promote the interests of women and under-represented attorneys, not just at Yale Law School (YLS), but in the legal profession as a whole. It was informed by responses from three groups: this year’s Vault Law 100 firms to a survey on their DEI practices; Yale Law students with previous law firm experience as SEO fellows and/or summer associates, or with interest in working at a firm in the future; and Yale Law Women+ alumni who were previously or are currently employed at a law firm. Are you surprised to learn that culture, not compensation, is the top consideration for job seeking junior lawyers? #nalsc #lawjobs #legaljobs #legalrecruiting #lawfirmculture

🔍 The Importance of Criminal Law in Today’s Society 🔍 As I reflect on my journey through law school, one area that continues to intrigue me is the profound impact of Criminal Law on shaping our society. From high-profile cases that capture national attention to everyday issues affecting communities, Criminal Law plays a pivotal role in maintaining justice and order. In recent years, we've witnessed how legal principles in criminal cases can influence public discourse and policy-making. These cases not only highlight the complexities of the legal system but also underscore its role in safeguarding individual rights and promoting social harmony. During my internships and coursework, I've had the privilege to delve into various aspects of Criminal Law, from understanding procedural intricacies to grappling with ethical dilemmas. Each experience has reinforced my belief in the importance of fair trials, due process, and the protection of human rights. Moreover, Criminal Law isn't just confined to courtrooms; its ramifications extend into diverse fields, including technology, finance, and social justice. As aspiring legal professionals, it's crucial for us to stay attuned to these developments and contribute meaningfully to the discourse surrounding Criminal Law. I look forward to continuing my exploration of this dynamic field and leveraging my skills to advocate for justice and uphold the rule of law. How has Criminal Law impacted your perspective on societal issues? I'd love to hear your thoughts! #CriminalLaw #JusticeSystem #LegalProfession #LawStudent #SocietyAndLaw

Dear Law Students/ Young Lawyers, #guidancebynitinpotdar Yesterday I came across beautiful piece on career making in law, which had some very interesting points on Success. I took the liberty of rearranging the same for ease of understanding. I have also added some timelines which are only indicative and depends upon the twists and turns you take as given in the picture. Success – it's a word we all strive for, but what does it truly mean, especially in the world of law? Let's break it down, shall we? For Law Students (5 years): · Success begins with a thirst for knowledge and a commitment to learning. · It’s about mastering the fundamentals, honing your skills, and laying a strong foundation. · It is not just about grades; it's about the journey of growth and discovery. For Young Lawyers (5 +3 years) · It's about gaining practical experience and building domain expertise. · building relationships and making a positive impact. · Navigating challenges with resilience, seizing opportunities for growth, and continuously refining your craft. For Experienced Professionals (5+3+7 years): · It's about achieving mastery in your field, · Earning the trust of clients and colleagues and becoming a respected leader. For Senior Professionals (5+3+7+10) · It’s about leaving a legacy, mentoring the next generation, and making a lasting contribution to the legal community. No matter where you are in your journey – whether you're a law student, a young lawyer, an experienced professional, or a seasoned senior – remember this: Success is not a destination; it's a journey. It's about growth, resilience, and making a difference in the lives of others. So, keep pushing forward, keep striving for excellence, and never lose sight of your goals. Because true success isn't measured by accolades or achievements, but by the impact you have on the world around you. #lawstudents #younglawyers #lawschool #lawfirms #legaleducation #lawyering
