Panel 6 of FIED 2024 Conference - "Digital Solutions for Women Entrepreneurs in Guinea" had palpable energy as a dynamic lineup of panelists shared how digital innovation can empower Guinean women entrepreneurs. Mme.Rose Pola PriceMou, Minister of Post, Telecommunications & the digital economy opened with pride in the strides women are making. She emphasized digital technology as a game-changer, not only for profitability but also for visibility. Rose discussed the impact of ongoing digital bootcamps, which support women-led businesses by helping them double their income and leverage alternative funding sources outside traditional banking. Her hope lies in rigorous training to ensure women access these resources confidently and effectively. Mme. Aminata Deen Toure celebrated the arrival of the digital era, which she believes is transforming traditional business methods and bridging access gaps. Aminata spoke passionately about integrating AI and big data into training programs, believing these tools can make women more competitive. Her vision includes expanding digital skills in Guinea's higher education institutions to enable young women to thrive globally. M. Danial Petrov from Software Group emphasized how COVID-19 fast-tracked digital inclusion. His organization aids women entrepreneurs by creating digital portals to market products and offering tools to manage savings better. He highlighted how they partner with agents to ensure women can work with their solutions even without internet access, bridging critical digital divides. M. Amin El Aassar, Group Director MBME Group raised a key issue: many women struggle to secure funding due to complex application processes. "We need an ecosystem to guide women through these processes," he argued, emphasizing the importance of helping women apply, secure, and profit from funds effectively. Mme. Rosheen Chipo Ngorima shared her personal journey, recalling how being fired for her pregnancy led her to create her own accounting firm and the Female Founders Initiative Global. Her initiative acts as a bridge for female entrepreneurs to meet angel investors, fostering collaboration over competition. Rosheen highlighted the need for skill training, especially in sales and the importance of addressing language barriers to unify francophone and anglophone regions in Africa. This panel underscored a shared commitment to supporting women in leveraging digital tools and navigating new financial avenues, ultimately fostering a more inclusive and equitable entrepreneurial landscape in Guinea and beyond. #FIED2024
