Do you think I deserve an award? It's been over a month since you last saw this on your space. I thought I was going to keep up the one-month interval but it went south. So here we are, I will be giving you the rundown now, I kept the 5 contents in the 7-day challenge for 3 weeks but did 4 in the last week. Maybe because there's no more accountability from you like before - I am 60% sure that's the cause. And, that's why I have decided to bring the 2 weeks accountability thing back - which is giving you a rundown of what I do every single day, in a fun way of course, That also brings us to something I have been eager to tell you, which is, ▪ My contents would now be centralized on one unique thing. ▪ Everything I do will aim at one goal. ▪ And, it will be centralized on one target audience. This is just a little breakdown, I will also be accountable for this. One more thing before I go. Do you think I deserve an award? These past few weeks have been a rollercoaster for me, I have had lots of disappointments ( mostly in me), a lot of downtimes, and a lot of times I get to blow my brains too. And, sometimes I feel like celebrating myself because it ain't easy, and other times, I feel, if I had put in more effort here and there, I'd have done better. It is so easy to say "no" - Why not say yes? We have always strived to say YES whenever possible. Saying Yes is not always easy. For us it sometimes requires working late, rush shipping, and all kinds of stress behind the scenes. Why do we say yes? Imagine if you work hard to meet your goals and your employer is hosting a recognition ceremony to showcase all of the hard work of the top performers. What if they reach out to their awards supplier and were told NO! The deadline cannot be met, the item is out of stock, the production time is too long - and they are crazy for even asking. What if you are the one that shows up and does not receive that award? How does that make you feel? It's not always about the client, it's more about the receiver of that item. How will it make them feel? No matter how big or small, and sometimes the smaller orders, make the most impact, try saying yes! Now, I am not saying we can always say yes, but if it is remotely possible, maybe we should. We are not hero, the client is the hero, we are just the guide.

🤫The secret to being 100% confident that you’re worthy Sometimes we'll see a celebrity who is disappointed or resentful when they are not given a certain award from their peers or from the people or from the governing bodies in their industry. It always makes me think about the fact that the very thing that gives those awards their power to make people excited to receive them or resentful when they don't receive them is just the fact that the people value those awards. Those awards in and of themselves have no value except for the fact that the people want them. You also could be experiencing something like that in your life where the applause or  the lack thereof from other people makes you feel some type of way, and it's only because you are looking for the awards from those people. Instead of looking for other people to tell you when you're worthy and when you're not, tell yourself that you're worthy, and then you always get the award. As I sit down to write my nomination for some upcoming awards, I'm confronted with a challenge that is harder than the application process itself: the act of self-promotion and the request for testimonials. Insert awkward emoji. This process is forcing me to confront a cocktail of self-doubt and reluctance that I suspect many of you can relate to. The task at hand is not just to fill out a form but to weave a narrative that highlights my achievements, impact, and the difference I've made through my work. However, the thought of trying to mime out my own accomplishments, feels too self-congratulatory and every gesture feels exaggerated. The irony is not lost on me — in a career spent championing others, advocating for change, and striving to make a difference, I find myself stumbling when it comes to championing my most familiar cause: myself. This reluctance isn't just about doubting my achievements or fearing how they might be perceived. It's also wrapped up in the discomfort of asking others to spend their precious time crafting testimonials on my behalf. The idea of requesting testimonials feels like an imposition, a burden I'm hesitant to place on the shoulders of colleagues, mentors, and peers who have already given so much. So what do I do? Where to from here? Unfortunately, this isn't one of those " I have had a realization and here is the answer post". I am still struggling with how I navigate this discomfort. How do I overcome the reluctance to ask for support in highlighting our achievements? I figure I am not the only person to struggle with this and I would love to hear from others who have dealt with this same challenge and how you overcame it.

Awards Season.......how to write a winning entry 🏆 I am very lucky to be part of judging panels for several awards events coming up over the next few months. It is a genuine honour to review talented businesses and individuals across our industry. Having trawled through a very long list of entries last week I thought it might be useful to share my tips for how to create strong entries. ✔ Read the criteria carefully, and make sure your entry captures each of the required points. ✔ Use bullet points, short paragraphs and easy to digest content. Remember the judges have to read an awful lot, so make sure yours is easily understandable. ✔ If you are applying in multiple categories, make sure you make your entry different in each category (back to point 1) Each entry needs to be relevant to the category. ✔ Don't think you have to apply for every category you may have a chance to win in. Less entries, with better clarity and detail, will have more of a chance. And do not give up. If you don't make the shortlist, keep trying. Over the years I have seen plenty of entries improve year on year, your time will come! Good luck everyone 🍀

We didn’t win the award…. How to manage disappointment at the awards dinner! It can be hugely disappointing when someone else’s name is announced as the winner of the award. And it’s hard to put on your ‘I didn’t win but I’m happy for the person who did’ face 👇 , so here are some tips on how to manage the disappointment when you haven’t won the award this time round… Put things in perspective: Remember that not winning an award doesn't define your worth or abilities. Awards are subjective, and many factors can influence the decision-making process. Reflect on your accomplishments and the effort you put into your work. Focus on the journey, not just the destination: Winning an award is a great achievement, but it's important to appreciate the journey and the personal growth that comes with it. Acknowledge the hard work and progress you've made in your business to even make it onto the shortlist. Seek feedback: If possible, ask for feedback from the judges or organizers of the award. Constructive criticism can help you understand where you can improve and how you can increase your chances in the future. Practice self-compassion: Treat yourself with kindness and understanding. Avoid self-criticism and negative self-talk. Remind yourself that everyone faces setbacks and failures at some point. Set new goals: Use the disappointment as motivation to set new goals and work toward achieving them. Channel your energy and frustration into improving your skills or pursuing new opportunities. Celebrate your achievements: Getting onto the shortlist is no mean feat. Of the hundreds of entries that the judges go through, to be recognised in the top 10%, is an incredible achievement in itself. It’s a numbers game: Awards happen annually. With planning and a strategy in place you can enter again the following year. The more you enter, the more likely you are to win. Learn from the experience: Research the winning companies to understand more about why you didn't win the award. Why not even chat to them at the dinner to find out some of their secrets! Keep going: Remember that disappointments are a part of life, and they can be valuable learning experiences.
