This weekend, the Top 30 finalists for the 2026 Calgary Stampede Youth Poster Competition gathered for their first kick off session—a day filled with inspiration, mentorship, and creativity! We were thrilled to have Elora Kiddle join us, our 2025 Calgary Stampede Poster Artist, who shared her experience and insights from her journey. The Youth Poster Competition, generously supported by the Brandon Flock Foundation and the Dustin Peers Memorial Scholarship, is more than just an art contest. It’s a transformative journey for Alberta’s most talented young artists to elevate their craft and showcase their work on a world stage. Participants will take part in: 🎨 Masterclass workshops led by experienced local artists 🤝 Mentorship opportunities to refine their skills 🏡 Studio time to bring their artistic visions to life Through this program, one artist will be selected as the 2026 Calgary Stampede Poster Artist. Stay tuned for updates on their journey!

1moIt’s great that the focus of the poster contest is giving a huge shot of confidence and self-esteem to young Calgary artists. This is so much better than the professional artists whose posters were sold at auction in the past. The development of local talent yields incalculable returns. Ya-Hoo!
