Happy 6-month work anniversary to me! 🎉 ‘𝘎𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘵𝘩 𝘪𝘴 𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘧𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘭𝘦, 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘨𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘺, 𝘣𝘶𝘵 𝘴𝘰 𝘪𝘴 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘴𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶’𝘷𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘵𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘸𝘯’ 6 months ago today, I made the jump to Birds Eye and what a whirlwind it’s been! I can't believe how quickly time flies when you're learning and growing! Here are some updates on my journey: 1. Ive been immersing myself into an FMCG business, whether that be factory visits, store visits or site visits! 🏭 2. Having career mentoring sessions monthly. I have never had a mentor in any job (as it’s never been offered to me) and I’ve been missing out that’s for sure! 🥳 3. Attending lots of amazing events such as the BFFF Awards Dinner and Barcode Festival 😎 4. Creating meaningful relationships has been a highlight for me. Building strong connections with colleagues and external partners has been incredibly rewarding🫂 5. Am I “old fashioned”, “narrow minded” or “inflexible” to have worked in the same company for 20 years, or am I just a loyal, committed and dedicated employee? 🤔 ...Probably both!   Celebrating an anniversary of two decades in a company may seem like a non-desirable career path for many out there – especially within younger generations. And getting to know different organizations and company cultures can indeed be very fruitful and rewarding, for example in terms of promotions or the development of different skills.   On the other hand, staying in a company for many years or decades can also be a great way of spending your work life. In particular for paper industry professionals, and specifically in my company GAW technologies GmbH, many colleagues have an even much longer history – sometimes more than 40 years of working experience within the very same firm. The loyalty, trust and establishment of deep-rooted relationships with coworkers and management is sometimes one of a kind and not so easily achieved when spending only a shorter amount of time within the same working surroundings.   Both career paths have advantages and downsides – but isn´t this the case for almost anything in life?   For me personally I am extremely proud that I still like coming to work and to be enjoying what I am doing, even if I have to admit that of course there are also some days or parts of my job that do not bring a lot of pleasure (or sometimes even suck to speak out frankly), but this is totally normal and I am sure that everybody can also relate to these feelings from time to time.   But going through rough times in professional or personal periods also shapes you as an employee and as a human being, brings you experience and sometimes forces you to develop and grow. May it be in several different companies or in one and the same.   I am proud of being one of the “old fashioned” and loyal ones. And will raise my glass today and celebrate! 🥂   Thank you very much GAW and all my amazing colleagues for the consistency, opportunity to grow and for all the good and bad days – I hope that many more (hopefully mostly good ones 😉) are about to follow! P.S.: I certainly have changed during these 20 years - and it was a lot of fun looking at pictures from the beginning of my professional journey. What is your career path like? I appreciate all of your kind words on my work anniversary! Reaching a one-year, two-year, or longer milestone in one's profession is usually a significant accomplishment. Serving the organization to the utmost of our abilities using every skill we possess; if this produces fruitful outcomes, we will have effectively completed half of the task. After twelve years in your previous favorite fantasy firm, moving into a new dream job with all the flexibility you need to adjust and move forward is a blessing for every individual.   As a firm, Sasken is now on the mission towards a target of 60*4*3. Celebrating My One-Year Corporate Anniversary 🌟 Today, July 11th, 2024 marks an important milestone in my professional journey - my one-year anniversary in the corporate world. Reflecting on this past year, the biggest lesson I've learned is the importance of separating my personality from my work persona. As an introvert during my school and college days, I often struggled to actively participate and voice my thoughts. This wasn't a major issue back then. However, when I entered the professional world, I found it very challenging to work in a team. I've come to realize that in the professional realm, certain traits are expected of you, regardless of your natural inclinations. Embracing this understanding has been pivotal in helping me adapt, communicate more effectively, and become a true team player. I now recognize that business is a team sport, not a solo sport. As I am approaching what would have been my 10-year work anniversary with my former employer in the next couple of days, it's a poignant moment to reflect on the significant chapter of my career that I shared with the company. While circumstances may have led me on a different path since then, the memories, experiences, and lessons learned during my tenure hold a special place in my professional journey. 😇 Thinking back on my time with my former employer, I recall a multitude of memories and milestones that defined my career during those past years.
