Causes you to wonder what we might be determined do today, in protest to lower taxes. Creative bookkeeping seems punished more, the larger this government gets. How about end the over-regulation of our non-criminal / ordinary financials ? How about a standard tax percentage ? How about allowing the taxpayers (deductions) to select whom (disabled peoples) they donate towards; instead of politicians to elite groups ? How about this government handing back over healthcare to the charity realm ? Especially the mental health care asylums for the homeless. Red Cross, etc. Smaller government control = higher personal results.

JARUS: a success story. Voluntary and informal. In 15 years it aggregated more than 65 States and two regional aviation organisations (EASA and EUROCONTROL). What they do? Simple: a) recommend to its Members how to transpose ICAO standards in respective regulations, with more details and with appropriate language; and b) recommend requirements also for the open and specific categories of UAS operations, which are not standardised by ICAO. My dream is that other regional aviation organisations would join.

Next Monday, the 1st of July, is Keti Koti. It is a day of great significance to me, as it is the commemoration and celebration of the end of slavery in Surinam and the former Dutch Antilles. It is a day where I emphasize the necessity to remember the Dutch history, in its totality. I understand the time we live in is one of transition, into creating a complete narrative of our common Dutch heritage, and this comes with uncomfortable conversations and self-reflection for all of us. A couple of years ago, I requested my then employer for a company wide day off on the 1st of July. I was met with a counter-offer: a day of shared learning for all colleagues who were interested. At first I was hesitant, what if no one cared? But I said yes, as I felt we had to start somewhere. We created a day filled program, where colleagues could soak up history, ask questions and attend the Keti Koti festival. The team showed up. This openness and willingness to learn from both sides was heartwarming and made me feel seen - as a human, as opposed to an employee. We all have a responsibility in shaping this heritage, which should not happen behind closed doors. This is a conversation that should be had in every space of our country, irrespective of location or sector. In honour of the 1st of July, I implore you to take the responsibility to educate one another on this topic and create an understanding that our story - how we choose to live and work together - is far from complete. We all actively choose who to remember and who to forget. If my ancestors’ stories are irrelevant to our history, what does that mean for our future? "These papers show some of the different facets of sharing and belonging that events, festivals and their spaces may foster. They do this in the context of various challenging environments like times of pandemic, stigmatised residential areas, a rural area at risk of depopulation, high-risk countries and spaces where safety comes under threat as they become more open to the wider public. At the same time, and maybe even more importantly, they demonstrate the ways in which sharing and belonging might improve event participants' well-being. This can happen as events boost pride in the place where people live, reduce ambivalence and fear in a high-risk environment, enhance a sense of community through virtually presented festival content in pandemic times, recreate warm and sociable festival atmospheres through reminiscing about past (live) experiences in times of social isolation and ensure that safe spaces remain safe and free of prejudice and fear." https://lnkd.in/eVzC3P3n
