ANT everywhere: Enabling a New Era of #AGV and #AMR Operations Operating AGVs outdoors was traditionally a real challenge. For vehicles driven by natural feature navigation, the lack of features in the environment made it difficult to calculate a vehicle’s position, meaning additional infrastructure often needed to be installed. While for older, traditional outdoor AGVs, the installation of GPS-based vehicles was complex and difficult, with the limitation that these vehicles could not function indoors. Our new product extension, ANT everywhere, meets the challenge of outdoor operation by adding high-precision GNSS as an additional data source when calculating a vehicle’s position. The result: outdoor AGV operations become just as simple, robust and precise as those indoors — opening up a new world of customer applications. 🚀 Exciting news! Our latest trial results, unveiled at the recent European Navigation Conference, demonstrated the impact of our product S-GNSS® Auto (powered by Supercorrelation™ technology) on #GNSS positioning accuracy, integrity and reliability. The trial, made possible by funding from the European Space Agency - ESA’s #NAVISP programme, highlights the importance of precise positioning in automated driving systems. The image below illustrates improvement in position accuracy achieved by S-GNSS® Auto - closely aligning with the ground truth positioning. The blue line is positioned on top of the true trajectory (green line), thereby enhancing the measurements for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS). Conversely, the red line, which deviates onto the pavement, indicates a potential ADAS failure when S-GNSS® Auto is not activated. 👉 What does this mean? As automated driving systems become more popular, their ability to accurately navigate becomes critical for ensuring vehicle safety. S-GNSS® Auto helps make these systems safer even in challenging environments, where tall buildings and dense foliage can weaken or reflect satellite signals. Our Principal GNSS engineer Javier Garcia, who presented the results at the European Navigation Conference (ENC), said, “It was an honour to present these results to such an eminent audience in positioning and navigation and demonstrate the impact of our Supercorrelation™ receiver. The results show that Supercorrelation™ processing significantly improves the position accuracy performance of GNSS receivers in dense urban environments." 🔊 As of now, we are finalizing, alongside our collaborator, AEROTOOLS our activities for AI@EDGE Project, which aims to address the challenges of leveraging the concept of reusable, secure, and reliable #artificialIntelligence for #network automation. Some of the project activities required for the development of various infrastructures at 5TONIC's facilities (e.g., Aerotools UAVs), as well as the use of 5TONIC lab's own #5G infrastructure (e.g., 5G backpack). During the development of this project, the participation and involvement of some of the lab's members, such as Ericsson, IMDEA Networks Institute , and Universidad Carlos III de Madrid was required. 🔷 In the video attached to this post, we show the trials taken for this specific use case. #AIntelligence
