📚NEW PAPER ALERT 🌟 This study which was just published in the Journal of Cancer Survivorship focuses on ethnically diverse Black prostate cancer survivors using a constructivist grounded theory approach. It introduces the "Journeying through Unfamiliar Terrain" framework, highlighting the complex survivorship journey Black men face from diagnosis to post-treatment adaptation. The findings underscore the need for tailored interventions to improve care and quality of life for these men, addressing critical gaps in survivorship research and healthcare practices. Our study adopts a constructivist grounded theory approach to explore the subjective realities and diverse perspectives of Black prostate cancer survivors. This approach allows for an in-depth examination of the multifaceted factors shaping their survivorship experiences, aiming to inform clinical practice and the development of targeted interventions. By delineating the experiences of Black CaP survivors, including immigrants, we recognize their cultural richness and diversity, moving beyond a monolithic view. This nuanced understanding is crucial for bridging gaps in research and enhancing healthcare practices tailored to this heterogeneous population who keeps influencing the evolving ethnic composition of the US population!
