Happy International Women's Day! The role of women in society remains burdened by duty despite the continuing inequality that hinders it. Sexist men and social structures burden women with the duties of THEIR unfair expectations, desires and selfishness. Around the world women are expected to: · Obey their men. · Relinquish rights to their bodies. · Accept less money. · Renounce opportunities of career progression to men. · Do domestic work without remuneration. · Raise children without help. · Manage the home. · Be available to have sex with partners whenever the partner wants. This has never been acceptable, and it is not acceptable in modern times. In this episode of TwoandaMic Mischka talks about patriarchy and the waves of feminism that have moved society to wake up over the last 2 centuries. She also talks about her experiences in the music industry and how expectations of a certain kind have made her question the motives of some people who have engaged her for her work as a musician. Society needs women to be equal for it to have a chance of reaching its potential. Without women’s equality that chance is ZERO and we will remain the unequal, unfair and desperate society we are today, forever, until climate change takes us out. Today I celebrate every woman, everywhere. Whether she considers herself a feminist or a traditionalist, I celebrate what she has done for her family, her community and herself. I will celebrate you tomorrow too, and the next day, and everyday thereafter. #Women #Feminism #Equality #GenderEquality #Fairness #Society #Sexism #Justice #Patriarchy

Reclaiming a Lost Vision - The Rights of Woman In this podcast episode, we were joined by Dr. Erika Bachiochi - a distinguished legal scholar, mother, wife, and feminist. Erika shares her thoughts on: - Managing family and career, marriage as a training ground for virtue and parenting for inter-dependence; - Meaningful dialogue in a polarised world; - The role of the Catholic Worker Movement in shaping her views on service and justice; - The concept of Sex-Realist Feminism: the acknowledgement of biological sex differences integrated with the advocacy for equal rights and opportunities for women; and - The unique capacity of women to get to the heart of the matter. This conversation will provide an insightful view into being Catholic and feminist, healing from childhood traumas, becoming strong as the person you are called to be and being an advocate for women's rights. https://lnkd.in/etgYh73z
