This is great, but FDA says that Donor Egg Bank USA a California Cryobank Company ONLY does "donor screening" and got out of the Egg Retrieval, processing and shipping business? So, who is providing the Donor Egg Cohorts? 🤔 California Cryobank LLC - Can somebody please answer where Donor Egg Bank USA is procuring donor oocytes, seeing as the FDA website says that DebUSA got OUT of the Donor Egg business, except for #Screening, which I assume is GENESCREEN COUNSELING, LLC, as they exclusively feature Shady Grove Fertility on their website and have been through the Public / Private washing machine with Labcorp, having changed the name to Orchard Cellmark LTD and Orchard Biociences Europe, and then spun off as bankrupt from LabCorp and re-incorporated in the states as GeneScreen again. Ms Foundation out in front!! Infertility is truly an issue of economic and racial justice as well as reproductive justice. So few health insurance plans cover fertility treatments, placing the choice and desire to become parents out of reach of lower-income people, out of reach of many Black women who are 2x more likely to experience infertility than white women, have higher rates of miscarriage at 10-20 weeks, higher incidence of fibroids which can cause miscarriage and infertility, and maternal mortality that is 3x higher plus infant mortality 2x higher than white counterparts. These effects of toxic cortisol/structural racism/environmental health harms contribute to why peak fertility for Black women occurs earlier in their reproductive ages—in late adolescence—compared to white peers for whom it’s in early 20s. Yet the infertility treatments available remain 'elective' and not covered by insurance so often in the US. There it is: economic, racial, reproductive injustice. And...these health factors are downstream symptoms from the lifetime allostatic load and toxic cortisol levels that come from structural racism, aggression, bias, and discrimination, directly affecting reproductive health outcomes. SO: let's together deliver the Rx for that, and support 360 degrees of reproductive justice, birth justice, and birth JOY led by and for Black women, birthing people, and communities of color. From an NIH article I saw a few weeks ago: “We know infertility impacts around 12% of women, but black women may be twice as likely to experience infertility compared with white women; however, they are 50% less likely to seek out care (NHSR).”

Sexual & Reproductive Health: Let's Talk Nuance In my four years of experience in the field of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR), the conversations haven't changed much locally. We talk about lack of knowledge and negativity, but the examples stay the same. What if we dug deeper? -Contraception: It's more accepted, but with limitations. Myths and lack of info on side effects, especially hormonal options, push people (even young people!) towards traditional methods. -Menopause: Young people navigating periods are sometimes seen as the info source for their elders about menopause. But where do they learn? -Gender Stereotypes: We all know they exist, but how do we advocate to challenge this through media or activities like sports? -Navigating environments:Young people need skills to navigate environments where their thoughts clash with social norms. These are just a few examples. Why aren't these nuanced conversations feeding into development agendas? I think we need a shift.

World Population Day 2024 is a moment to ask who is still going uncounted and why – and what this costs individuals, societies, and our global efforts to ‘leave no one behind’. Sexual and reproductive rights are essential for gender equality, Women’s empowerment, social development and overall health for both genders. This March we launch a new series on ‘Reproductive health in Women and Men.’ Part -1 of this series talks about Women’s reproductive health. It is very important for each woman to take care of her health by making healthy choices of lifestyle, exercise and food. This will support her reproductive system too. For every female different hormones play important roles at different stages of life especially during the reproductive years. If a woman wants to have a child, carry a pregnancy smoothly from conception to birth, both partners need to prepare their bodies and health to give the best possible foundation of well being for their baby. All in all, a holistic approach is needed to support Mind and Body and most important are nutrient dense foods that have the essential ingredients for the brain - which regulates ‘how and when’ hormones are produced and released that support reproductive functions. Hormones also Cross- talk with each other affecting multiple metabolic functions that impact the different aspects of ovulation and conception.
