With the new year fast approaching, it's time to start preparing for new challenges. At The Accountants' Recruiter, we understand that the holiday season can be a busy time for candidates. However, it's important to start thinking about getting "job ready" now if you're seeking new opportunities in the upcoming year. Don't wait until it's too late to start preparing for your next career move.

When interviewing for a role, listing job duties will not put you ahead of other interviewees. For example, if you're a receptionist cum office administrator, it is not enough to state that you received phone calls and responded to emails. Instead, tell the volume of calls you can handle comfortably. Which of those are inbound and outbound? Quantify if daily or weekly. Explain the amount of emails you handled. Which email marketing tools are you familiar with? This shows how best you know your work. Jobs are extremely competitive and they favor the prepared candidates. Candidates who focus on impact rather than responsibilities are an answered prayer for recruiters and hiring managers. Happy new month. This time of year can be slow for convention work, prompting me to seek a full-time job that can transition into part-time when conventions pick up again. Honesty and integrity are fundamental to my work ethic, guiding my approach in every opportunity. Recently, I received a text from a recruiter after missing their call. Despite the unconventional outreach, I expressed interest in hearing about the opportunity, yet they failed to follow through on our scheduled conversation. Disappointing to be ghosted before even discussing the job. Time is valuable, why waste people's time? #Recruitment #JobSearch #Professionalism
