Some advice from a Career EXPO veteran: Visit the University Career Center! It’s free for students, and everyone there is ready to help—whether it’s polishing your resume or practicing your elevator pitch. They’ve got all the tools you need to succeed! Once your resume is ready, pick a few key accomplishments to highlight in your pitch. Focus on one major accomplishment in different areas, and explain how your strengths and personality made it happen. Researching the companies at the event will help you tailor your pitch even more. Show how your skills and goals align with theirs! Practice for a natural delivery, and be yourself—don’t force the conversation. When recruiters see your genuine interest, they’re more likely to keep talking and might even offer you an interview!
