California Public Utilities Commission’s Post

I was recently able to join Southern California based Rail Transit staff in LA and observed an inspection of the Angels's Flight railway, the world's shortest railway first put in service in 1901. Its one of the smaller Rail Transit Agencies under CPUC jurisdiction, but has provided more than 100 million rides on these short tracks. The two railway cars currently in service are the original cars from 1901, with some updates and modifications overseen by Rail Safety Division.
