The Forager´s Almanac by Danielle Gallacher is a hardback book published by Greenfinch and, as the title suggests, is all about foraging throughout the year. It describes what plants and wild mushrooms and fungi you can collect and eat or use for their medicinal properties. Some you can use to make teas and drinks from, and the book also includes recipes. There are colour photos and descriptions, but also important warnings about poisonous plants and fungi you should leave well alone. As an almanac this book takes you right through a year, featuring plants and fungi you could find in each of the calendar months. This is a great way of connecting with nature. As a naturalist and forager myself I was very impressed with Danni´s videos on Youtube, where she is known as Danniinthewild, so impressed I bought her book and have really enjoyed reading it, which is why I am recommending it to you. There is always more to learn when it comes to foraging and I have learned many new things from The Forager´s Almanac.
