🏆 The Benefits of Friendly Competition: What We Learned from Our Team Event!🏆 Recently, our team got together for a day of friendly competition, and it taught us a lot about working together. Here's what we found out: 1️⃣ Stay Focused: When we're competing, we pay more attention and try harder. This helps us do better in both the competition and our regular work. 2️⃣ Be Friends: Even though we're competing, we still support each other. Cheering for our teammates and celebrating their wins makes us feel like a stronger team. 3️⃣ Learn and Grow: Competition pushes us to do our best, even when it's tough. When we win, it feels great, but even when we don't, we learn something new that helps us get better next time. 4️⃣ Feel Good: Competing is exciting! It makes us happy and boosts our energy. That positive feeling sticks around and makes our workdays better too. 5️⃣ Work Together: Through competition, we get to know each other better. We learn what we're good at and where we can help each other, making us a stronger team overall. Overall, our team event showed us that friendly competition isn't just about winning—it's about working together, having fun, and becoming better colleagues. 📣 Impact strategy director 🚀 Qualified in leading Equity Diversity & Inclusion 🏙 Specialist in built environment communications
Last week I delivered a long awaited B LONG™ session to the team. I absolutely love running these workshops because they are only about 30% planning and then the rest comes down to discussion and participation and every time I’m blown away by the results! 🤯 This session was all about ‘Finding belonging and uniqueness in teamwork.’ Not to be confused with a team building workshop, this was all about discovering what teamwork means to us as individuals and how we can cultivate an environment that allows us all to thrive. The outcomes from this workshop are invaluable to the business and how we will continue to operate. 🚀 For anyone that doesn’t know, B LONG™ is the EDI programme that I set up with Rumpus | B Corp Certified. Using a highly collaborative approach, B LONG™ is different to traditional EDI strategies that tend to use top down implimentation methods and instead creates environments that ensure employee-wide participation in a setting that removes any hierarchical structures. 🤝 We have BIG plans for B LONG™ this year, I can’t wait to share them with you 👀 #EDI #inclusiveculture #equalitydiversityinclusion

In May 2024, we had the pleasure of conducting impactful teambuilding sessions for Integra Marine & Freight Services N.V. These sessions were carefully designed to align with the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values, ensuring a cohesive and motivated team environment. 𝗜𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀: We began with engaging icebreaker activities that allowed team members to relax and open up. These activities set the stage for open communication and active participation throughout the sessions. 𝗧𝗲𝗮𝗺𝗯𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: Interactive games and collaborative tasks were organized to strengthen bonds among team members. These activities emphasized teamwork, mutual support, and the collective achievement of goals. 𝗠𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗖𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝗩𝗮𝗹𝘂𝗲𝘀 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀: We conducted several activities specifically designed to help team members understand Integra Marine's Mission, Vision, and Core Values. Through these exercises, participants were able to internalize these guiding principles and see their relevance in daily operations. These teambuilding sessions were a significant step in enhancing the Integra Marine team's dynamics. By focusing on icebreakers, team bonding, and the organization's Mission, Vision, and Core Values, we laid down a strong foundation for better collaboration and trust on the work floor. We look forward to seeing the continued positive impact of these sessions on the Integra Marine team's performance and morale. Brand Strategy & Design Specialist for B2B, Employee Owned, Personal & Employer Brands | EOA Membership Council Member
“Putting humanity back in business” For me, this sound bite from B Lab UK Executive Director, Chris Turner, at this morning’s keynote really sums up my feelings about this year’s Employee Ownership Association conference. Meeting with other #eo organisations and feeling an immediate sense of shared values is always a delight. Regardless of sector or size, it seems like every member of the community has something to share, some advice, or support. No overt competition, no hard sell. This is business as it should be: full of soul, purpose and humanity. My thanks to my co-facilitator Steve Jones FCMI for sharing that bloody great big stage. To the entire Employee Ownership Association team for organising another awesome event, James de le Vingne, Oliver Smith, Ellie Ashton, John Beattie, Darren Moulds, and Yogita Johnston. To my colleagues on the Membership Council, Michael Hodgson, Lisa Ballam, Katie Scott, Tom Lethaby, Esther Barnes and Lucy C. I’m really looking forward to getting stuck in and sorting out the South West EO scene. And finally to the Salad conference team for their support, Arabella Lewis-Smith, Andy Brown CDir FCCA and Natalie Padgham, it’s been a pleasure to hang out with you guys 🙌. The #eo sector is growing. The recently published Knowledge Programme (https://lnkd.in/eg_tCEs5) is the proof that the model works and that we can thrive when employees have a significant and meaningful say and stake in their businesses. We need more people talking about the sector, sharing the vast knowledge and experience of the roughly 1600 businesses already partly or completely employee owned. We need more owners to consider the transition to shared ownership, and we need our government and the wider business community to keep supporting efforts to put humanity back in business. #employeeownership #proudtobeemoloyeeowned #saladcreative
