I often get asked why Advocacy, well this article is one of the reasons. I come across stories like this all the time and it makes my blood boil. I have to try and help the ones that don't fit a criteria of a particular charity or organisation. I have to make that difference. I am different I don't have a criteria other than get a positive outcome for my clients. However, I do respect the work of charities and organisations. One size does not fit all. 📢 Support independent living for people with intellectual disabilities! After the loss of their parents, many individuals with intellectual disabilities face unsafe and dire living conditions. Anglicare’s Rental Affordability Snapshot (April 2023) revealed a harsh reality: only 0.1% of over 45,000 rental listings were affordable for those on the Disability Support Pension. In Canberra, not a single property was suitable. These vulnerable individuals deserve the dignity of independent living. Our initiative aims to provide just that, but we need your help.
