We not only hold ourselves accountable to workers, customers and the planet, but we also demonstrate transparency by making our data publicly available for anyone to read. The B Corp certification is holistic, which means it covers the complete impact of our entire business instead of focusing on a single social or environmental issue. It's the end of B Corp Month, and time to reflect on our journey, in line with this year's theme, 'This Way Forward’, emphasising that B Corps are not just about achieving certification. The theme celebrates our ongoing commitment to our impact on society and the environment. Since our B Corp certification in 2016, starting with a score of 90.2 and now at 116.5, we are proud of our ‘Way Forward’ across key areas. This score shows that over the past 8 years, we enhanced our governance, fostered community ties, progressed our environmental sustainability, and strengthened customer relations – one point at a time. These scores are not just numbers to us; they represent our active evolution as an organisation. And our team is actively engaged in celebrating and building the movement. Our Director of Impact and Engagement recently attended the B-Corp Assembly in Cape Schanck on beautiful Bunurong Country, our Practice Manager dedicated his MBA dissertation to ethical business, and our team regularly celebrates and shares stories of the latest organisations to achieve B Corp certification. Btw, did you know 99 Bikes is now a B Corp? 😉 With this in mind, 'This Way Forward' is about us developing as an organisation, but also about sharing the power of business to the wider world - that's why we intend to actively support the Queensland network of B-Corps to grow and become more connected. To commemorate the conclusion of B Corp Month, we would like to share our B Corp story.   Inspired by our experience advising a B Corp Certified client, the Wyse team became excited about the B Movement and curious as to what the results would be if we took the assessment ourselves. We embarked on the journey of becoming a B Corp with the intent of documenting our existing policies and processes and only implementing changes that resonated with us as a company.   After months of dedicated effort, supplemented by guidance from a consultant, we successfully navigated the rigorous application process. In July of 2022, we were delighted to discover that Wyse qualified as a B Corp, led by our score in the Workers category. This achievement underscores our dedication to our employees, clients, tenants, vendors, and the broader community.    Our journey doesn't end with certification. Being a B Corp represents our ongoing commitment to reflection, growth, and improvement. We are continually refining our values and operations, empowering our team and fostering sustainable growth through informed decision-making.   Wyse remains committed to championing ongoing improvement and prioritizing people and the planet in our daily operations. Within our office, we are implementing measures to reduce paper waste, plastic garbage bin waste, and water usage. Additionally, we strive to increase awareness of the B Movement within our team and promote other B Corps both globally and locally through discussions, bringing local B Corps in to share with the office, and involvement with B Local PDX. Furthermore, Wyse is dedicated to community outreach and helping those in need.   The theme of B Corp Month 2024 is “This Way Forward.” Join us in celebrating and learn more about our commitment to positive impact. Senior Minister of State for Communication and Information for Singapore, Dr. Janil Puthucheary, recognized the work of GSF during the Asia Tech Singapore - Digital Sustainability Forum. 🙌 Getting the Software Carbon Intensity (SCI) approved as an ISO standard was an important step in encouraging more organizations to use the standard to calculate a carbon intensity score for their software applications. In his keynote, Dr. Puthucheary highlighted the impact of SCI to measure their performance against sustainability best practices. #greensoftware #greencomputing #softwaredevelopment

At Brightly, getting B Corp certified was a huge achievement. They really don’t make it easy! But just because we reached our goal, doesn’t mean we stop there. With each recertification, we're focused on improvements (in fact, we went from 80.9 after our initial certification, to recertifying with 106.8!) We want to move with the world, adapt to meet new needs, and keep our place in a community of B corps moving business forward. Since our original certification, we’ve put new process in place around measurement and reporting of key metrics that will continue to support our recertification applications. This process also helps us understand where there’s still work to be done and what areas of our business we need to focus on further with improvements. Being B Corp is a journey, not a destination!
