🆘Urgent Memo to Gov comms team: 🎯Subject: New plan 📺The more you put a Minister / MP on the TV or Radio saying “we’ve got a plan” and “we’re sticking to the plan” the less it sounds like you have a plan or are sticking to a plan. 📢You might need to think about making a plan for a new PR plan. 👋👋👋

We love campaigns and this one is really important for the whole industry, so it makes all the hard work worthwhile...#thinkrespect If you need help with your campaign, whether it’s industry-industry or industry-public, talktous@boundarymarketing.co.uk #marketing #PR #Communications #highways #infrastructure #highwaymaintenace #trafficmanagement #stampitout #thinkrespect
What a week of coverage for the Stamp It Out led public-facing campaign Think Respect. With the support of Boundary Marketing & PR Ltd, so far this week alone it has featured on ITV and BBC regional radio programmes as well as the printed media. On top of that, industry has been using the campaign resources to support the campaign during the very first Respect Our Workforce Week. This also means we have reached several million members of the public already all over the country-crucial for this campaign-that wants them to understand that abuse of any public-facing workers is not acceptable! Thanks to the National Highways traffic officers that appeared in this news bulletin and to everyone else who has supported the campaign, especially Sinead Ryan of HW Martin (Traffic Management) Limited who has been brilliant on the radio this week. More exclusive coverage to come over the next few weeks, so watch this space... Much more to come from both campaigns this year also. You can find out more at: www.thinkrespect.uk and www.stampitout.uk #roadworkerabuse #thinkrespect #stampitout #trafficmanagement #highwaymaintenance If you would like to find out how we can support you with any of your campaigns: talktous@boundarymarketing.co.uk https://lnkd.in/ddD9z-a #markeing #pr #communications

Pitch ghosting is a financial drain for all agencies, as is ideas mining during a competitive pitching round. Quite frankly, it is damn rude. For a business relationship to bloom, you need good, clear communication married to mutual respect, and that starts from/on the pitch. Game on.
Pending an agency pitch, James Swan worked out that Red Lion PR had invested more than £10k of resources responding to the brief; only for the brand in question (a self-professed ‘people-first business’) to neglect bothering to let the agency know the outcome #pr #comms
Pitch ‘ghosting’ is not on in 2024

Annoyingly this PRWeek article is only available to subscribers but it's sadly only too easy to guess what it says. I looked into why pitch ghosting (wish I'd thought of that phrase!) existed in a 2022 article and unsurprisingly it's all linked to the abuse of power by clients. I'm glad that James Swan has put a financial value on his time spent on pitches - it is not trivial and the mental strain on staff is also considerable. You can read my article here: https://lnkd.in/evGMp_JP I see that the PRCA are planning to update their client-consultancy charter, something that I know was being discussed a couple of years ago. https://lnkd.in/eq-xw6AV Clearer guidelines, expectations and responsibilities are definitely needed and it would be valuable for the PRCA to work with other business organisations and the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply to make sure that there is buy-in across business sectors.
