Marketers of Aotearoa The Privacy Amendment Bill is moving towards becoming law. This may affect any company who collects customer information. The Bill introduces a new information privacy principle 3A . Its provisions will require us all to review our privacy policies and ensure any automated systems are amended to include notifying individuals that their data has been collected from June 2025 onwards. It requires businesses to disclose data collection practices, allow consumers to opt-out of the sale of their data, and imposes penalties for non-compliance. 𝐅𝐞𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐅𝐓𝐂) 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬: The FTC sets guidelines for advertising and marketing practices in the United States.
