32 Working Days Until Mad Friday!! Why am I reminding you there are 32 working days left? (if you work over Xmas there will be more left) Truth? my timeline has been full of UK budget and US election posts. I forgot to do it earlier. 32 Working Days Until Thursday 2nd Jan 2025. Are you going to hit this year's targets? Will you get the volume of orders out? is yield great? waste coming down? absence rate ( long term and short term) reducing? how many Continous Improvement projects have you completed? did they deliver the cash you expected? fewer accidents and near misses? Are the targets in 2025 more aggressive or about the same? Do you need to be staying next year looking for new improvements? Are you still working through your factory budget for 2025? Capex ( new machinery , factory extension) or Opex ( new staff). Have you looked at the statutory training you need for the Jan-Mar 2025. It is booked in? What about the training you promised yourself this year but forgot to do? If you do performance reviews are they planned in, completed? If not, how many do you need to do each day, between now and Friday 20th December. 1 every other day? 1 every 3 days? Do you have any critical maintence or repairs to get completed over the Xmas period? Have you planned them? Spoken to the external suppliers, overhaul company? Is anyone due to leave/retire at Xmas? what about early 2025? Have you got plans to recruit? Have you got a last date you take orders in for delivery before Xmas? Have the customers been told? No, when will it happen? Your manufacturing might be shut 20/12-2/1 but what an emergency access to the site. Who is covering the holiday period? Can orders still go out? from stores? if so who will organise? There is still so much to do and only 32 working days. What can you do today? 1. Do your Daily Meeting, get everyone else focused on today/tomorrow. 2. Find a quiet spot, grab a drink and write out the tasks and activities you've got too finish this side of Xmas. 3. Prioritise them and then allocate them across the 32 days. If you can spread them out then do that. 4. If there is too much on any one day, ask for help. 5. Get others involved where you can. 6. Start clearing the tasks. That's it. DM for details on my Ops Leadership Mentoring and Coaching Services for Leaders in manufacturing firms. 👉 365 days in a year 👉 104 weekends off 👉 12 public holidays (approx) 👉 28 leaves (Privilege + Sick) That’s just 221 working days out of total 365 days. So why do so many people feel overworked when they’re effectively working only 60% of the year? It is because the real problem is... -> Inefficient processes -> Poor prioritization -> Lack of boundaries It’s not about the number of days— it’s about how you spend them effectively For example, Lean Six Sigma can help cut down unnecessary steps in daily tasks, making work smoother and less stressful. If your work is meaningful and balanced, it won’t feel exhausting. If not, even 100 working days can feel unbearable. Follow Simarpreet Singh for more! 🗓 101 days left in 2024 = 70 working days to go! Heading into the last stretch of the year, I have found myself pausing more and reflecting about the goals I set back in January. I cannot quite believe we have just 70 working days left of 2024. For me, this year has definitely not panned out how I expected at all. I’m someone who embraces change and tries, where possible, to trust the process. There have been challenges, but with that a whole lot of growth. I’ve learned to adapt and stay flexible with my goals. Sometimes life has a different plan for us, and that’s ok. Flexibility is key, not just in how we approach our goals but in how we handle the curveballs. As we head towards the end of the year, it’s a good time to reassess, make adjustments, and appreciate the progress we’ve made. How are you planning to spend these last 101 days? 💪 Finishing strong at work ❤️ Spending time with loved ones 🤪 or trying desperately to find the balance? #YearEndGoals #WorkLifeBalance #FinishStrong #TrustTheJourney #Flexibility #BeKindToYourself

Good news Monday! A German pilot program of a #4dayworkweek has shown great results across 42 companies with over 900 employees. 😎 Here are the outcomes (see link below for more info): - Revenue: no change - Productivity: +13% - Recruitment and retention: much improved - Stress: -89 mins/week - Sleep: +38 mins/week - Steps: +1,848/week - Active Minutes: +24 mins/week - Companies continuing with 4-day week: 73% - Employees wanting to keep 4-day week: 82% With the benefits of a shorter workweek, there is a clear case for breaking up with traditional work structures.💔 And more, leveraging #AI to handle repetitive but even more complex tasks allows us to prioritize health, relationships, and personal interests outside of work. Let's embrace this shift towards a more healthy work-life relationship 😍 https://lnkd.in/eAG7scGx

A four-day workweek for all employees, without any reduction in pay or benefits! And if employees currently work four days, they will be compensated. That's how AFAS Software is embracing the Future of Work. Why can they do this? Because over the past 25 years, employee productivity has increased by 650%! And CEO Bas van der Veldt believes that smart automation and innovation present a great opportunity to make the company even more productive. I find this refreshing: 💡 It's a giant step that shows a strong belief in employees. That they will do the right thing and deliver to customers. 💡It's an acknowledgement that productivity increases should not only benefit shareholders, but also the people that help you get there. 💡It's a bold move that sets an example for organizations worldwide, focusing on better work-life balance and personal development. I am really curious to see how this "development day" works out for the company in the next years. How about you? #futureofwork #productivity

We often hear about extended hours work-weeks that stretch on without clear resolutions. While some still view this as a sign of hard work and commitment, it's essential to question the real cost of these extended hours. Productivity should never be equated to the number of hours worked, but to the quality of the results produced. #ImpactOverHours #90HourWorkWeek #70HourWorkWeek #EmployeeProductivity #EmployeeWellbeing

The recent discussions around 70-90 hour workweeks have sparked a lot of debate. Some advocate for longer hours to drive productivity, while others emphasize work-life balance and quality over quantity. Here’s my take: Work quality and quantity are not mutually exclusive. They can coexist, but it requires a shift in mindset and approach. ✅ Efficient Systems: Streamlining processes and leveraging technology can help individuals and teams produce high-quality work without burning out. ✅ Purpose-Driven Work: When employees are aligned with their goals and understand the bigger picture, productivity naturally improves, regardless of the hours spent. ✅ Skill Development: Focusing on upskilling can empower individuals to do more in less time while maintaining high standards. ✅ Flexibility and Ownership: Giving professionals the autonomy to manage their workload often results in better outcomes. The key isn’t about the number of hours—it’s about maximizing the impact of those hours. If the quality and quantity of work are maintained, a 40-hour workweek or less is achievable. However, if the circumstances demand it, short-term sprints of 70-90 hours may sometimes be necessary to meet exceptional goals. We at Kairos Coders don’t force anyone to do 70-90 hours of work. As we have created processes to maximise working in given time of 40 hours. What do you think? #WorkLifeBalance #Productivity #QualityOverQuantity
