What defines a human dopaminergic neuron? It may seem obvious, but the lack of standardisation in defining, generating and working with human cells poses a major hurdle for neuroscience research. At #SfN2024, scientific experts from Charles River Laboratories, The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson's Research, and bit.bio emphasised how standardising not only the cells themselves but also the protocols and workflows could improve research outcomes. By minimising variability, we can de-risk research programs and improve reproducibility across labs. So, what steps should be taken to achieve standardisation? Visit us at booth 1545 or share your thoughts in the comments below! #Neuroscience #iPSC #Standardisation #Reproducibility #FutureofScience #ioCells #optiox, Nicole K. 🔍 Researchers have made significant strides in studying infant social attention by combining real-time analysis with machine learning using our #Enobio. 🧠 Involving 50 infants from the British #Autism Study of Infant Siblings, this study utilized our Enobio #EEG device to measure neural responses. Researchers employed the Neuroadaptive Bayesian Optimisation method to identify how social stimuli optimally elicit brain activity. The findings revealed that infants show distinct neural patterns when engaged with social versus non-social stimuli, highlighting potential early markers for neurodevelopmental conditions. 👉 Explore the full #study and its transformative findings here: https://lnkd.in/dsnDZshi 🎉 Congratulations to Elena Throm for her exceptional work! We extend our gratitude to the professors Emily Jones and Robert Leech, and the STAARS team at Birkbeck's BabyLab for designing the study, collecting and pre-processing the data: Mary Agyapong, Tessel Bazelmans, Jannath Begum Ali, Tony Charman, Francesca Conti, Leila Dafner, Kim Davies, Mutluhan Ersoy, Janice Fernandes, Zoë Freeman, Teodora Gliga, Amy Goodwin, Rianne Haartsen, Hanna Halkola, Alexandra Hendy, Rebecca Holman, Meg Jackson, Mark Johnson, Sarah Kalwarowsky, Anna Kolesnik, Sarah Lloyd-Fox, Luke Mason, Nisha Narvekar, PhD, Laura Pirazzoli, Chloë Taylor, and Natalie Vaz.
