LOVE these three ideas from Sarah Price and the Go Well Community to ensure you’re refreshed for the new school year. Aimed at schools and kids to keep their health and wellbeing in check over the holidays, but as always, here some great things for us all to think about, all the time! As another school year comes to an end, we hope that you now have some time to put your own health and wellbeing first so you are refreshed and ready for September. Here are three ideas to try: 👨💻 Take a break! Try switching off from technology for a few days at least. Spend time doing things that really bring you joy. 👟 Exercise regularly – go for a walk, the gym, a run, play football or netball with your friends. Swim, ride, climb, whatever it is that you enjoy doing make sure you get plenty of exercise and time outside. 🏆 Set yourself personal challenge. Setting and completing a challenge gives a sense of control over what you are doing, it provides motivation and will give you a sense of achievement and satisfaction. I heard an ad on the radio this weekend “Being born is a gift of life that comes with an expiry date.” This got me thinking about what we can control in our lives to make us a better person. 1. Education: Education doesn’t end once you’ve completed school and varsity. Keep your brain and mind active. 2. Behavior and Actions: Our behaviour is a powerful means of influencing our lives. How we behave is almost entirely under voluntary control. What we do, the actions we take, and how we move our bodies are within our grasp. Regular exercise and physical activity allow us to avoid. So let’s steer our canoes by choosing actions that lead us toward health and happiness. 3. Communication: Learn to control what comes out of our mouths and how we speak. Sometimes emulating the wise man who said nothing can also be a powerful choice. 4. Nutrition and Exercise: We have control of what we put in our bodies and how we look after them. Living a healthy lifestyle is all about choice and we have control over our choices. I love this quote – “Let food be your medicine, and medicine be your food.” Control what you’re putting into your body. Remember, while we can’t control everything, focusing on what we can influence empowers us to shape our lives. So let’s keep learning, growing and steering our canoes toward the life we deserve. 🚣♀️💭 #PersonalGrowth #Empowerment #PaddleYourCanoe

Nicholas Bruski says their teachers say all the time that the students today are different than the students of five years ago. He wants to engage with experts and practitioners at the Habits of Mind Conference around this topic. "How are you seeing kids these days? And what does that mean for our work with the Habits of Mind so we can we can support these kids to give them every opportunity to succeed that they deserve?"
