If you are interested in involving the public in your research, read Munisa's lessons learned from her experience on our Public Advisory Board 👇
Collaboration between Health Data Research UK (HDR UK) and its Public Advisory Board is putting public voices at the centre of the organisation, involving them in decision-making at every level. Set up in 2019, the HDR UK Public Advisory Board is made up of members of the public with diverse backgrounds and health experiences, that provides strategic advice to HDR UK, ensuring their work benefits the public and maintains public trust in data access and use. “While we are an advisory board, it seems like a very natural extension of HDR UK. We challenge what they are doing, and they consult with us on new projects and partnerships.” Munisa Hashimi, a member of the Public Advisory Board explains. “What I love about working in such a collaborative way is that we can influence projects and ‘co-develop’ them from inception.” If you’re considering public involvement in research, read Munisa’s lessons learned from her experience below. Head to the UKRI Good Research Resource Hub for more guidance and examples. #PublicInvolvement #Health #Research #CaseStudy #LessonsLearned
