Exciting News for H-1B Applicants! This year, the USCIS is shaking things up with a reimagined H-1B lottery process! Instead of focusing solely on the total number of employer registrations – which were over 780,000 for FY 2024 – the emphasis now will be on the number of unique beneficiaries. This means a fairer chance for individual applicants, ensuring every qualified candidate has a much better shot at this coveted employee classification. Why is this change important? Since there are only 65,000 spots available for those with a US bachelor’s degree or its foreign equivalent, and an additional 20,000 for those with a US advanced degree, the odds of being selected will now significantly increase. They are also higher when the foreign national possesses a US advanced degree such as a master’s degree.
