𝗫𝗶𝗮𝗼𝗺𝗶'𝘀 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗖𝗮𝗿 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻 𝗘𝗹𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰 𝗦𝗨𝟳 𝗘𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝟳𝟲 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗱𝘀! Xiaomi has made a significant entry into the automotive industry with the launch of its first car, the SU7, on March 28, 2024. Produced in Xiaomi’s advanced Super Factory in Beijing, the SU7 rolls off the production line every 76 seconds, achieving a remarkable rate of 40 cars per hour. This efficiency is made possible by a highly automated production process that involves more than 700 robots. These robots perform tasks ranging from assembling parts to quality inspection and transportation. In particular, the body shop utilises 381 robots across eight workstations, significantly speeding up assembly times and surpassing the capabilities of traditional car manufacturing. Follow me Damian Danelczyk for more tech and AI insights. Thanks, Damian More details below: Despite these advancements, the SU7 has faced challenges shortly after its unveiling. Social media has highlighted several incidents where test vehicles lost control and crashed when accelerating too quickly. These issues have raised concerns that Xiaomi must address before the car reaches customers. Moreover, the SU7 has seen an overwhelming market response. Within the first 30 minutes of opening reservations, Xiaomi received 50,000 requests, and this number climbed to 90,000 within 24 hours. Potential buyers have even waited until 3 AM to test drive the new model, showing high consumer interest. The SU7 started reaching showrooms across 28 cities, with influencers getting early access to boost the model's popularity. However, the high demand has led to extended waiting times, with some models requiring up to 30 weeks for delivery, prompting a few customers to cancel their reservations due to the wait. #Tech #Innovation #EV #Xiaomi Credit: Xiaomi

Why Xiaomi could launch an EV while Dyson halted its project? 1) Willingness to share technology and infrastructure: Xiaomi strategically partnered with other companies, whereas Dyson prided itself on original motors and control systems, hindering cost-effectiveness and speed. For instance, Xiaomi collaborated with Chinese manufacturers like XPeng and Nio and sourced batteries from FinDreams, BYD’s power battery arm, thus facilitating a smoother entry into the EV market. 2) Ecosystem Xiaomi leveraged China's robust EV manufacturing ecosystem and supply chain, mitigating the risk of cost overruns. Dyson, on the other hand, was an early entrant in 2017 with locations in the UK (Malmesbury, Hullavington) and Singapore. 3) Government subsidies The Chinese government actively promoted EV development and adoption, offering incentives and subsidies, reducing Xiaomi's production costs. Conversely, Dyson recouped its £8 million UK government grant after abandoning the EV project. 4) A vast consumer base that could make economies of scale achievable Dyson's products, including the EV in development, targeted consumers willing to pay a premium. In contrast, Xiaomi was known for its cost leadership strategy while maintaining product quality. Therefore, Xiaomi's EV could benefit from economies of scale by tapping into its extensive fan base in China. Consequently, due to Dyson's market positioning, the brand had to halt the project as launching it would not be commercially viable. #Xiaomi #Dyson #EV #sustainable #businessstrategy #tech

Xiaomi Celebrates 10th Anniversary in India with the SU7 Electric Sedan Showcase Xiaomi marked its decade-long presence in India by unveiling its first electric car, the SU7, alongside the launch of the Redmi 13 5G and Redmi Buds 5C. Emphasizing that the event was merely a showcase, Xiaomi executives refrained from announcing a launch date for the SU7 in India. The SU7, also known as the Speed Ultra 7, is a testament to Xiaomi’s significant investment in the automotive sector, with a whopping USD 10 billion committed. Initially launched in China in March, the SU7 has garnered positive reception. The base model, priced under USD 30,000 (approx. INR 25 lakh), is approximately USD 4,000 (INR 3.3 lakh) cheaper than Tesla’s Model 3 in China. Available in two versions, the SU7 offers driving ranges of up to 668 km and 800 km, catering to varied consumer needs. Known for its "super electric motor" technology, Xiaomi claims the SU7 can accelerate faster than Tesla and Porsche electric vehicles. Produced by BAIC Group in a Beijing factory with an annual capacity of 200,000 vehicles, the SU7 signifies Xiaomi's strategic shift as it diversifies beyond smartphones amid stagnating demand. This move places Xiaomi as a formidable new entrant in China’s competitive EV market. . . . #XiaomiSU7 #ElectricVehicle #XiaomiEV #ev #electric #vechicle #news #xiami #mi #china #india #suv #sedan #nexonev #punchev #tiagoev #car #trending #comming #launch #bajajev #freedom #cng
