👀 Here's what people are saying about #CoffeeConnections... • The person I was connected to had recently completed a website upgrade project, which I was about to start, and it was really helpful to hear their experience and also get an idea of what it cost them etc. • I still connect with one of my connections. Although we work in quite different organisations, it’s always great to hear his experience / perspective. • It's been really helpful to speak to contacts from organisations that are bigger, smaller, and of a similar size and appreciating that we're all facing similar challenges. • (I've benefitted by) getting a connections input on our CRM transformation, and hearing how other organisations are handling certain transformation issues. Want to get involved in the next round? Register for free and match with a peer in the charity sector every two months for a virtual chat about all things digital. You can talk about anything you like: challenges; triumphs; top tips; useful links; networking; events; contact sharing: the choice is yours! 🗓️ The next round of matches will take place this Thursday, 4th April; register today to get involved! 👉 https://buff.ly/2FhZETB #networking #charity #peertopeer #connections

𝟏𝟓 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐏𝐞𝐫𝐟𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 - 𝐒𝐭𝐞𝐩 𝟏𝟏 Depending on the objective of your event, your budget will either focus on maximising revenue or minimising expenses. If it’s a fundraiser or product or sales event, you want to find as many ways as possible to make money (revenue). However, if it’s an event that is a celebration, free seminar, or community event, you want to find as many ways as possible to minimise expenses (costs). Sponsorship is an excellent way to look at both of these areas and it’s worth doing a bit of research on “how to get sponsors for your event”. Cash sponsors give you revenue, in-kind sponsors minimise expenses. Consider both of these with your objective in mind. I've created the Ultimate Event Planning Course. After-hours thoughts on sponsorships… Heard the other day about a conference host sending non-solicitation requests to the event sponsoring partners. 😵💫 It wasn’t a competitive noncompete, non-solicit. It was a “Hey, please don’t make this event about sales, so commit to not being sales-y. Now, it was like a third hand hearing of the experience, so I dunno, maybe some misinterpretation. And I get it, the hard pitch, salsey sales stuff drives me nuts too. Yet, nonsolicits to paying sponsors is not the answer. If anything, tell sponsors what TO DO rather than what NOT to do. You’ll have better event experiences for everyone involved. Win for host, win for sponsors, win for attendees. That’s a partnership.
