There is no shortage of heart-warming stories that come our way, thanks to the wonderful in-kind items that are donated to our Donation Station ♥️ When Chris spent a few weeks in the ICU at Canberra Hospital, he felt immense gratitude for the thoughtful items that made his stay a little bit more positive. "He received a National Geographic magazine which included articles about birds (which he loves) and the most gorgeous hand made card from students at Neville Bonner Primary School. It was good to see a smile on Chris's face." said Chris's wife, Valerie. Thank you to the students of Neville Bonner Primary School who donated these special cards filled with words of encouragement. These cards may be small, but the impact and joy they are able to create is immense! 🌀

What is the value of ”Take Your Daughter to Work Day? We think it is education and empathy, so the child knows what the parent does daily, but it is so much more. It instills lifelong work values. Meahgan Gibson attended a “Take Your Daughter to Work Day” at Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. To this day she reminds me of a few choice words I stated during a staff meeting but she also pursued a career in Leisure and Hospitality. More importantly she picked up values like; everybody is critical to success (especially the lowest paid hourly associates), every person has a story, treat people with dignity and respect, and if they have a name tag, user their name. Grow by trying new things that others shy away from. Powerful words are “thank you” and “can you help me”, and assisting others even if you do not have time. Today this was in my feed. I had no idea she was working on this. Biscuits and socks, who knew? But more importantly, a young professional (from a generation many professionals belittle) leading a project that reflects well on the brand and does good for the community. Also hats off to Dennis Pfaff, Maple Street Biscuit Company and Cracker Barrel for creating an organization culture where young professional growth occurs. Take your daughter to work and as a leader, your relationships matter more than you know. #cio #leadership
TLDR: I've been working on something pretty cool! "The Maple Street Mantra: Help People, Serve Others, Be A Part Of The Community" is why I joined the team. I'm grateful to Maple Street Biscuit Company for allowing me to take on something so near and dear to who we are. *Maple Street Silly Socks* a portion of sock sales will go directly to LifeQuest Organ Recovery Services and U.F. Health, supporting their incredible work to maximize the Gift of Life through organ and tissue donation. This is particularly meaningful because giving back has always been a big part of who I am. From working with the Miami Children's Initiative during my time at the University of Florida to my work with the Harrison County Community Foundation, I've seen firsthand the impact we can make when we come together. Your support means the world and will help create positive change in our community. P.S. The socks are pretty cool as well https://lnkd.in/gKJnfwB6

Back to School Fundraiser Imagine a world where every individual is treated with dignity and respect. Imagine a world where all schools follow trauma-informed, neuroscience-aligned, neurodiversity-affirming, relationship-driven, and collaborative approaches. At the Alliance Against Seclusion and Restraint, we are working tirelessly to make that world a reality. Seclusion and restraint are harmful practices that affect numerous individuals and families, particularly those with children with disabilities, Black and brown children, and children with a trauma history. Our mission is to reduce and eliminate these practices and ensure safer schools for students, teachers, and staff. We need your help to continue this critical work. A gift of: $20 can provide vital support for families. $50 can support training for professionals. $100 can help us develop workshops and advocacy efforts. Your donation, no matter the size, will directly impact our ability to promote positive change and protect those in need. Together, we can end these harmful practices and create a better, more compassionate world. Thank you for your support. https://lnkd.in/eyPpBVqm #EndSeclusion

See how Advocates for Children CASA and CASA offices across the U.S. are changing children’s lives. Link below
According to National CASA, children and youth with a CASA volunteer reported higher levels of hope than those without a volunteer. A child’s hope has been linked to numerous positive outcomes such as academic success, overall wellbeing, increases in self-control, positive social relationships and optimism. You can bring this hope to a child this holiday season by supporting Advocates for Children CASA! Please consider making a donation between now and December 10 in honor of Colorado Gives Day at https://lnkd.in/gDaKTH53 Thank you for your support!

Join the Global Movement of Giving This Giving Tuesday! Did you know that Giving Tuesday is a global movement of generosity that started in 2012 as a simple idea—encouraging people to do good? What began as a call to action for one day has now evolved into a worldwide celebration of kindness, inspiring us all to give, collaborate, and make a difference every day of the year. Think of the countless lives we could touch, helping more students unlock their potential through the life-changing GEMS program. With your support, we can extend our reach and empower more young minds with the tools to build a brighter future. Currently, the GEMS program is in 3 school districts. But we need you to help us do more. Every donation, no matter the size, has a profound impact. With your contribution, we can reach more school districts, touch more lives, and give even more children the opportunity to thrive. We are driven by a mission to create a sustainable solution that positively impacts vulnerable children, their families, and their communities. Middle school is a critical time—children at this stage are at higher risk of falling through the cracks, facing struggles with mental health, dropping out of school, or becoming involved in the criminal justice system. We are committed to guiding these students toward a future filled with hope, opportunity, and a sense of belonging. Please consider making a donation today to help us secure a future filled with hope and possibility for these deserving children. Thank you for your generosity, your compassion, and your commitment to making the world a better place. Together, we can change lives—one child at a time. Together, we can make a lasting difference. https://lnkd.in/geSe29hi

Housing - A Basic Human Right: It’s easy to dismiss those experiencing homelessness as outcasts, often thinking, “Just go get a job,” without acknowledging the complex circumstances many face. In a society heavily reliant on credit, many individuals cannot secure housing simply because of poor credit—a barrier stemming from a lack of financial literacy, a skill not everyone is taught. Managing money, building credit, and navigating financial systems are relatively modern concepts and can feel foreign, especially when compared to societies where credit is not the primary pathway to housing, such as in parts of Africa or other regions with different economic systems. Moreover, mental health struggles add another layer of difficulty. Some individuals cannot maintain stable housing due to challenges with mental health, yet Western society often expects everyone to achieve perfect mental health, an excellent credit score, and impeccable money management to be deemed “acceptable.” This expectation is far removed from the reality of the human condition, where many factors, often beyond one’s control, impact stability. This is why organizations like St. Joseph Center are vital. They help people experiencing homelessness—families, individuals, and children—transition from the streets into housing. Housing is not a privilege; it’s a basic human right. This holiday season, regardless of political views, consider donating to the St. Joseph Center. They are making an undeniable difference in the lives of many, proving that we are all interconnected. What affects one human being affects us all. By supporting organizations like this, we not only provide shelter but also empower individuals to thrive, dream, and contribute to a stronger economy. Together, we can make a significant impact on our society. When people’s basic needs, like housing, are met, the entire community benefits. Together, let’s support the mission to end homelessness and create a society where everyone has the opportunity to live with dignity, a fundamental right that we all deserve. Let's show our empathy and compassion by supporting this cause.
🎂✨ Celebrating Jimmy Kimmel today! In honor of his birthday, he and Molly McNearney are generously matching $50,000 in donations to support families in need through St. Joseph Center! Day 1 | Spread Love Through Stories Imagine spending days, weeks, or even months away from home while your child fights for their health. For families staying at Ronald McDonald House Charities, this is too often the reality. As a young teenager, my brother lived that reality. In and out of hospitals, multiple surgeries. When times were tough, Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) was there. Eventually, my brother got better and he dedicated his time to giving back to RMHC. To continue his legacy, I’m dedicated to do the same. Though the feat may seem small, books can be a powerful source of comfort—a moment to escape, learn, or bond together. Please join me in raising 2,000 books to donate to various RMHC locations throughout Texas and Illinois. 📖 How You Can Help: ✅ Donate children’s books, young adult novels, or adult books. ✅ Ensure books are in good condition (no tears, stains, or writing) to protect the health of RMHC residents. ✅ Use the link below or scan the QR code. ✅ Share this post to help us spread the word! Together, we can fill their days with the magic of stories and show them they’re not alone. Thank you for making a difference! Every book tells a story. Let yours be one of love and hope. https://lnkd.in/gtFmf-3k

Since 2018, Transervice Logistics employees have donated thousands of books, CDs, DVDs, and magazines to support Book Fairies, the largest nonprofit book donation organization in the Tri-State area. These materials are redistributed to under-resourced communities across Long Island and New York City's five boroughs, providing greater access to educational resources. In November 2024, Transervice broke its own donation record, marking the sixth consecutive year of partnership with Book Fairies. This ongoing effort helps ensure that children in underserved areas have equal opportunities to learn and grow.
