Today marks the end of my incredible chapter at Open Government Products. As I pack up my virtual (and real) desk, I can’t help but reflect on how much I’ve grown and the moments that have shaped me during this journey. When I first joined the HAS(Health Appointment System) team, I wasn’t sure what to expect—just that I was stepping into a role that contributes to public healthcare. What I found was so much more: a space to collaborate, learn, and contribute to something meaningful alongside some of the most talented and driven people I’ve ever met. From tackling competing product decisions to solving complex problems, I’ve seen firsthand how important collaboration can be in driving impactful solutions and aligning key stakeholders toward a shared goal. One of my fulfilling moments was diving deep into data insights to identify opportunities that increased user adoption—a reminder of how impactful it is when decisions are driven by understanding real users and their needs. Beyond the skills and #Healthtech projects, it’s the people I’ll remember most—mentors who challenged me, teammates who inspired me, and friends who made even the toughest days rewarding. Thank you HAS/RefX team for the support, the conversations, and the collective wins we celebrated together. I’m walking away with not just new skills, but a whole new perspective on growth and collaboration of a great product team. While I’m excited to see what the next chapter holds, I’ll always look back on this experience with gratitude. #UserExperience #Productstrategy #Operations #DataAnalytics *Shoutout to Suhaila R. Kenneth Sng for inspiring me to step out of my comfort zone!

Back from Nashville. What an amazing two weeks of travel. New York for the Private Equity International Operating Paetners Forum and Nashville for HotTopics U.S. version of The Studio. Great conversations and thought leadership discussions on high performing teams, value creation and GenAI, to name a few. See my notes below from the GenAI Adoption Strategies and Myth Busting panel in Nashville. So much to share. So little time. Wait, I’ve got nothing but time. Stay tuned for more! Editorial Note: I’m not a LA Dodgers fan. I got the tchotchke Dodgers sweatshirt at a game last summer. I am however a Freddie Freeman fan. 🎉 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐀𝐈/𝐌𝐋 🎉 ▪ 𝗖𝗹𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁: Seed Stage, HealthTech ▪ 𝗡𝗲𝗲𝗱: 8+ years, experience working with healthcare datasets ▪ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀: 3-stage interview process + case study ▪ 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲: 3 weeks from first round to offer accepted! ▪ 𝗢𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿: 200k + Equity (comp refresh with next raise) Founding-level roles can always be tricky, add in the need to have worked across healthcare datasets across payer claims, clinical notes, EHR charts and ICD-10 coding - makes it even trickier. However, this is where we excel. We were able to find a candidate who was really tied to the companies mission and wanted to build the function from ground up. Both the candidate and client put in a lot of effort in and were able to close the process in record-breaking time! 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗜 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝗺𝘆 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲: I met this client during NY Tech Week, at the Techstars Demo Day. He had an amazing presentation. We connected, he had a few technical hiring needs and the rest was history.

I love to chat with early-career folks in healthcare, especially clinicians carving a non-traditional path. To frame the conversation around types of impact, one metaphor that I often invoke is "altitudes of work." 🔄 0 to 1,000 feet: Last-mile operations. You love short feedback cycles on the impact you create and enjoy being in the weeds. You can tolerate day-to-day volatility. 📊 1,000 to 10,000 feet: Central Ops, Product, Strategy. Maybe you have a great design mind. You dig the opportunity to work with different types of people and connect the dots, but still like to be close to the action. 🌎 10,000 to 50,000 feet: Large corporations, Policy. You're cool with longer feedback cycles and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes if it means large-scale impact. Not always but tend to focus on raising the floor of impact across a population rather than the ceiling. I've found this more helpful than discussing specific roles or functions, as the same function can often vary in altitude across different organizations depending on the work (services vs. tech) and stage. For me, I’ve found quite a bit of fun and magic in crafting the last mile of care delivery. It serves as a strong foundation when making strategic decisions and informs my understanding of how the policy rubber meets the road, which I think makes it a great place to start.

With Thanksgiving approaching, I'm feeling grateful for the incredible teams and partnerships that make clinical research possible. To all the dedicated professionals advancing patient care - thank you for inspiring our work every day. Speaking of partnerships, let's dive into something I'm truly passionate about - strategic site selection in clinical research. It's fascinating how this process goes far beyond checking boxes; it's really about building networks that drive both immediate trial success and long-term excellence. Through managing complex trials, I've found these elements make all the difference: 1. Strategic Alignment Looking at what sites can do today is important, but I get excited about their vision for tomorrow. The real magic happens when we see: • Growth trajectory alignment • Innovation mindset • Commitment to continuous improvement • Investment in research infrastructure 2. Operational Intelligence The numbers matter, but there's a deeper story in: • Site ecosystem dynamics • Staff development programs • Problem-solving capabilities • Cross-functional coordination strength 3. Partnership Potential I've learned that the strongest relationships flourish when we find: • Cultural fit with research objectives • Open communication patterns • Adaptability to change • Engaged leadership Here's what experience has taught me: when we focus on building the right networks, we create foundations for lasting research excellence. What factors have you found most crucial in evaluating potential research partners? #ClinicalTrials #SiteSelection #ClinicalResearch #StrategicPartnerships #Gratitude
