Go do something to make the world a little more beautiful around you today. Give a stranger a smile, give some extra hugs, find somebody with a need and meet that need without any expectation of being repaid, stop and help that person change a tire in the rain, take an extra shopping cart back, pick up that piece of trash you didn’t drop and don’t get so frustrated at the kids playing a little too loud. We have enough misery on this earth - rather than whine about it, do something to help get rid of it. Don’t ever underestimate your ability to do big things. Hell, I’m just a junkie and a drunk from Memphis, TN who found a better way to live and y’all see what I’ve been able to pull off - you’re already off to a better start than I was!

Light is incorporated into recognitions, commemorations, and celebrations worldwide, from memorial services to birthday candles and celebrations. One activity in many of our groups and programs during this time of year is Luminary Making, where kids and teens can create a lantern to share memories, feelings, and hopes. We encourage kids and teens to think about where they might want to keep this at home and remind them they can turn their lanterns on at any time of year to remember the person who died, share memories, feelings, and hopes, or be a reminder for self-care. When you see and hear so much negativity, it is natural to feel that all is lost. It shouldn't be. What would be needed is to look much deeper. Start peeling the skin of the onion layer by layer in search of hidden opportunities to grow. Growth is the only option of beating the contraction. Not doing anything is not an option. At Keells that was the Mantra that we used as the foundation to build our strategies on for 2023. An year later we got "alot of things done". The framework was not purely to get the Financial KPIs right. But we wanted to get it right for the Customer, The Team, Community and The Shareholders. Looking back 12 months later, we made some significant positive impact in all these areas. Also we were able to contribute significantly to the Government Revenue through significant Tax increases and Utility costs increases. We are not perfect but " growth mindset" did work.
