Canfem reaches from Delhi ➡ Gujarat ➡ Kenya Recently, I received a message from a Kenyan number. It was Maguta, a patient from Kenya, whom I met at Apollo, Gandhinagar. She confirmed that she has received her parcel sent from Canfem. She also shared how the prosthesis and bras are so comfortable, she feels so confident about herself and feels like she never had a mastectomy". Team Canfem visited Gujarat in July last week to present our work at the Annual Conference of Breast Surgeons in India. After gaining interest from 200+ doctors across the country, immediate meetings were set up. On my last day of the tour, I was about to book my cab for the airport, when I received a call from Dr Shubhra. I had met her at Apollo, Gandhinagar. She had a patient from Kenya in dire need of a prosthesis. She asked if we can do something for her. My hotel was just across Apollo, and in no time I visited her. I met Elizabeth and Maguta. Young women entrepreneurs from Kenya getting treated for breast cancer in India. Both had undergone mastectomy. In no time, I showed them the prosthesis and the bras. They got so happy seeing them. Luckily, I was carrying the size that fit Maguta perfectly. I promised Elizabeth to deliver her size within a week. After using Canfem's products for almost half a month, in their words, they feel like a "woman" again. Cancer is a big problem. Post-cancer care is an even bigger problem, often hitting the patient beyond medical needs. Canfem has taken the pledge to dignify the journey, with and beyond cancer. With the support of our fantastic mentor, Neeraj Lal sir, Canfem will soon be present offline in Gujarat. We can't wait to expand our presence. One step closer to impact a million cancer warriors.
