Canada Day, marks the joyous anniversary of Canada's confederation in 1867 and it is a day that brings Canadians together. For Indigenous communities, Canada Day has historically been a complex occasion, reflecting on the colonial past and its impacts. However, there's an inspiring and growing movement towards reconciliation and healing. This journey is encouraging collaboration and mutual respect, acknowledging the rich contributions of Indigenous cultures and perspectives of what Canada is. Today, there is optimism and hope as efforts are made to honor Indigenous voices, support their sovereignty, and celebrate their traditions alongside all Canadians. This shared commitment to a brighter, inclusive future is transforming Canada Day into a celebration where everyone can come together with joy and respect. Companies like CIC Inspection & Consulting Ltd. are contributing to this positive future by promoting inclusive practices and supporting diverse communities. By embracing our diverse histories and working towards equity, Canada is striving for a united future. Canada Day is evolving into a day that truly celebrates the strength, spirit, and beauty of all its diverse communities, heralding a promising and inclusive multicultural future for everyone. #CICInspection #CanadaDay2024 #CanadaDay #Canadian #Indigenousawareness #Multicultural

Since the first announcement post “why I left Pakistan”, I’ve been inundated with love, greetings, and well wishes. “Your journey is truly inspiring! Wishing you great success and growth in this new chapter.” “Welcome to the land of opportunities! In shaa Allah, you will reach the heights of success!” “Kudos to your vision and strength. May Allah help you! Leaving behind family and loved ones is difficult.” Some criticism too. “Good Luck. But do you really think this is the right age and time to move?” “Best of luck with whatever you do, but please remember.. The sacrifice you mentioned, leaving family behind.. Always weigh the opportunity cost.” “It looks like you created opportunity for yourself by the way of investment, meanwhile middle class is looking for opportunities like job offers to move.” I know this has been surprising and shocking for many. Equal opportunity or equal playing field is what separates a country like the USA from Pakistan. It provides the same chance to a first-generation immigrant as it does to the rest of its population. This is a critical factor that drives many to seek their fortunes abroad. The most consistent advice I’ve received from those already settled in the USA has been to remain honest and transparent. This principle, which I first learned while working in Dubai, is crucial. Pakistanis are undoubtedly talented and hardworking, but to achieve anything substantial, they must also embrace honesty and transparency. It may sound simple, but the first thing to chase and perfect is honesty.

One of reasons overseas Pakistani struggle to comprehend true meaning of humanity despite living many years abroad is because they dont go outside their own circle (fellow Pakistanis) while Indians mix and match pretty quickly with other nationalities (some do go find fellow indians but population wise numbers are not that high for these people). In order to evolve as a person you need to understand other view points and engage in open communication and discussion. Unless you engage with other nationalities you are not going to see or understand other cultures. While others go in awe of Burj Khalifa or Times Square/Tower Bridge when visiting overseas on tourist visas and mostly are just partying, I am after how that country infrastructure works, how people behave their, what they eat, what they wear, how they walk etc etc. Minor details helps you to analyze your trip once back be it tourism, work, study I love to analyze and understand other perspectives. The amount of criticism I receive from people, 10 percent of what I dish out makes their skin crawl and suddenly I am the bad and rude one when clearly other party is jealous of this intellectual curiosity quotient that not all Pakistanis possess and sadly is reason for decline of the country apart from obvious corruption issues.

I saw this post. And I find it very prudent, from another perspective. We as Canadians actually in general associate and relate far better with European and Global thoughts, than we do with the Nation's on the American Continents. Some people like to lump Canada in with the USA, but we are vastly different than the USA. Canada is a nation in of itself, not just a 51st state. Support Canadian as much as we can. We need bring back Canada to Canada. And we as Canadians are not just a 51st state. we are Canada.
