In Case You Missed It Read the latest article from Ruth Fisher, PhD, on the research on cannabis for COVID-19. An enormous body of research on cannabis—and cannabidiol (CBD) in particular—has shown cannabis to induce strong anti-viral and anti-inflammatory effects. It is still early days, so no clinical studies establishing the efficacy of cannabis for COVID-19 have yet been conducted, but studies have established several clear mechanisms of action for using cannabis to treat COVID-19. ➡️ Read the article for the full overview: https://ow.ly/9BGk50Rctmo

THC washout, also known as detoxification or cleansing, is a process that many individuals consider for various reasons, such as passing a drug test, reducing their tolerance, or if their response to medical cannabis treatment is unclear, or if there is a need to assess their baseline symptoms without the influence of cannabis. It is #illegal to drive whilst having detectable amounts of #THC in your system. Although many prescribers do not explain this to their patients, these are the facts. THC can last in your system for up to 30 days with continued, regular use of THC-containing products. Medicinal cannabis should not be referred to as CBD. #CBD and THC are only #cannabinoid components of medicinal cannabis and vary significantly with their risks and indications.
We often see #Medicinal #Cannabis referred to as #CBD. Medicinal Cannabis is the drug class and CBD and #THC, as well as hundreds of other cannabinoids are components of medicinal cannabis. You should be aware of the differences between CBD and THC specifically in order to know the risks associated with this. People are still legally unable to drive whilst THC remains in their system. (Can last up to 30 days with long-term, continued use). This has significant implications on ability to complete daily tasks and return to work. Provided the product contains NO THC, a person is legally able to drive. Independent Med Management

Ok I am really confused🤨 On December 2, 2022, President Biden signed the Medical Marijuana and Cannabidiol Research Expansion Act into law. Here’s what it entails: Scientific Study: The Act provides a mechanism for scientific research on cannabidiol (CBD) and cannabis for medical purposes. Seriously 😒 FDA Approval Pathway: It arranges a pathway for the FDA to approve the commercial production of drugs containing or derived from cannabis. Doctor Discussions: Doctors can now discuss the harms and benefits of using cannabis and its derivatives without legal constraints. Previously, 👉👉federal 👉👉funds👈👈 couldn’t be used for cannabis research without lengthy approvals. Now, the process is streamlined, and responses for research applications are mandated within 60 days. This legislation is a significant step toward understanding cannabis’s impacts and potential health benefits. 🌿🔬

The outlook for cannabis R&D in Israel is very promising. According to the newly released report from Prohibition Partners, Israel has established itself as a global leader in medical cannabis research, with a supportive regulatory environment and substantial government funding dedicated to cannabis research. The country's research-friendly atmosphere has attracted not only individual researchers but also entire companies and investors, especially from countries where cannabis research is heavily regulated, such as the United States. Israel's academic institutions, such as the Technion and the Hebrew University, are engaged in extensive cannabis research and receive government funding for their studies. This combination of government support, academic research, and private investment fosters an environment conducive to innovation and discovery in the field of medical cannabis. Israeli companies are at the forefront of developing innovative cannabis delivery systems, such as inhalers and nanotech-based formulations, and are pushing the boundaries of cannabis science. The History of Medical Cannabis. With partners in both the USA and UK specialising in Medical Cannabis I was interested to see where it all started. Cannabis is a plant-based product with origins tracing back to the ancient world. Evidence suggesting its use more than 5,000 years ago in what is now Romania has been described extensively. There is one direct source of evidence that cannabis was first used medicinally around 400 AD. In the USA, cannabis was widely utilized as a patent medicine during the 19th and early 20th centuries, described in the United States Pharmacopoeia for the first time in 1850. Cannabis was dropped from the United States Pharmacopoeia in 1942, with legal penalties for possession increasing in 1951 and 1956. In 1996, California became the first state to permit legal access to and use of botanical cannabis for medicinal purposes. As of today Medical Cannabis is legal in 38 states. Some states also allow recreational usage of Cannabis. #medicalcbd #cannabis #pharmacy #medicalcannabis

Get educated on what is happening in the industry
Founder and CEO of Cannabaceae LLC. Horticulturist, automotive technician, graduate of the Cannabis compliance training and mentorship program
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a report outlining the barriers to cannabis research, the health benefits and risks of Cannabis use titled; “Health Effects of Cannabis and Cannabinoids and Barriers to Research” “Report to Congress Pursuant to Requirements of the Medical Marijuana and Cannabidiol Research Expansion Act”. The report stated; “…Cannabis sativa L. is a complex plant, and it is being manufactured and consumed in varying potencies and formulations for a wide range of medicinal and non-medicinal purposes. Although there are medical benefits associated with the use of FDA-approved cannabinoid medications and there is credible scientific support suggesting that cannabis has additional therapeutic potential, there are also risks and many unknowns. It is imperative that we learn as much as we can about the wide variety of available products and their constituents, including cannabinoids other than Δ9 -THC and CBD. By expanding the number of cannabis manufacturers and enacting legislation to make it easier to conduct cannabis research, federal policymakers have taken important steps toward advancing this work. Nevertheless, continued regulatory hurdles, including lack of access to the products the public is using, hinder our ability to fully understand cannabis’ potential as a therapeutic agent and its risks when used for medicinal and nonmedicinal purposes, and must be addressed.” Read the full report @ https://lnkd.in/ghpj6ykw #Cannabis #Report #researchneeded #HHS

Using cannabis for medical treatment is not the controversial subject it once was, as taboos surrounding the use of the plant faded away. Today, dozens of countries across every continent have legalized the medical use of cannabis. But while attitudes to medical cannabis have changed, the primary method of delivery – smoking – has remained the same. And for one Israeli startup, such an unhealthy practice to deliver medical treatment seems counterproductive, to say nothing of the growing stigma surrounding smoking. “We couldn’t see smoking as a solution,” IMCI Pharmaceuticals CEO Alon Hershkovitz tells NoCamels. “[So] we decided to look at the evolution of cannabis products.” What IMCI, which views itself as an R&D startup rather than a drug company, came up with was a way to create nanoparticles out of cannabis, which are then taken in one of three ways. #cannabis #medicaltreatment #medicaluse #medicalcannabis #nanoparticles #israelitech #cannabinoids #israelinnovation https://lnkd.in/dGK8jE-9
