🎬Composites in Action🎬 Take A Look At $1-Million De Tomaso P72's Carbon Chassis!🤩 The De Tomaso P72 is built around a carbon fiber monocoque chassis and is constructed to LMP 1 standards. With curvy, smooth lines and a teardrop glasshouse architecture, the P72 is also inspired by the racing cars that participated in the 24 Hours of Le Mans at that time. De Tomaso's unibody, single-tool approach is cutting-edge and significantly improves the longevity of the vehicle's underpinnings. With zero connecting joints or adhesive bonding, further weight savings, and occupant safety optimizations, the latest and final iteration of the P72 monocoque boasts a unique, singular, and continuous form - a marvel of carbon fibre craftsmanship. The company says that the subframes and crash structures adhere to respective FIA LMP safety requirements, and the carbon mono-cell also provides enough protection so that a roll cage isn't necessary. The latest carbon chassis design adds an additional 3.93 inches of headroom and 1.97 inches of legroom without changing the exterior proportions, relative to a prior chassis design. Torsional rigidity is better, and the symmetrical layout will be offered in both left- and right-hand-drive configurations. There has also been a reduction in weight compared to the prototype platform.
