It was shared during the event that there is an increasing presence of Chinese manufacturers and suppliers in Southeast Asia - with many setting up operations here to maneuver US sanctions on China. It is important to note this key trend because this shift is reshaping the global economy, which essentially creates new opportunities for collaboration and growth in our region. KUALA LUMPUR (March 19): SEMI’s SEMICON Southeast Asia 2024 is set to take place from May 28-30 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (Mitec) in Kuala Lumpur for insights into the latest industry developments, trends and innovations, and critical areas including sustainability, smart manufacturing, and workforce development. In a statement on Tuesday, SEMI Southeast Asia said that SEMICON Southeast Asia 2024, themed “Boosting Agility and Resiliency of the Global Electronics Supply Chain”, will feature more than 500 exhibiting companies and more than 1,000 booths, doubling participation from last year’s exhibition and conference. It said the exponential expansion underscores the rising interest in Southeast Asia’s semiconductor sector and the increasing importance of SEMICON Southeast Asia, the region’s premier global electronics manufacturing and supply chain event, in bringing industry stakeholders together to pursue new innovation and growth opportunities. Accounting for US$200 billion in chip exports, Southeast Asia boasts growing manufacturing capabilities, supporting government policies and a strong pool of skilled workers, it said. SEMI Southeast Asia president Linda Tan said that Southeast Asia has become a compelling destination for foreign direct investments (FDIs) in recent years, due to its strategic location, investment-friendly policies and the region’s diverse workforce. “SEMICON Southeast Asia 2024 is a crucial platform for the region, offering a tremendous opportunity for participants to actively engage with industry peers, [as well as to] network and share knowledge,” she said.

Turkiye's announcement of the Development Road as an alternative to the IMEC has introduced another route for accessing Europe. The comparison of IMEC with the proposed corridor shows that they share the same objectives, but differ in costs, transit times, and the regions they cover. I encountered fascinating advancements such as capacitive wireless power transmission and a highly efficient cooler inspired by bionics. Although these innovations may not yet fit into our current projects, they offer a glimpse into future possibilities and expand our horizons on what could be achievable. 🤝 𝐍𝐮𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐬 One of the highlights was the chance to engage with potential new suppliers for one of our main components. Malaysia is a growing market with a strong foothold in the Semiconductor industry, which accounts for 7% of the global semiconductor trade.   Part of this mission is Hittech Group’s attendance at the Netherlands Pavilion (Booth 3317, hall 6) at the SEMICON Southeast Asia (SEA) show in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, initiated by BOM (Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij) in cooperation with the Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland (RVO), Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Malaysia and Brainport Industries.
