At Canoe, we are dedicated to creating a supportive, safe, and diverse environment for everyone. This month, we are celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month by showing our collective support for our employees and the broader LGBTQIA+ community. Our NYC headquarters are just about a mile away from The Stonewall Inn, the site of the Gay Liberation Movement’s tipping point—the June 1969 Stonewall Uprising. 55 years later, we asked some of our employees to explain what Pride means to them and how they plan to celebrate this year: https://hubs.li/Q02DB8XX0 Featuring: Tiffany Mosher Taylor (she/her) Jeffrey Lin Cássio Couto 🏳️🌈 #AltsSmarter #Pride2024

🤔 Have you ever wondered why so many people are adding their pronouns to their email signatures at work? 🏳️🌈 June is Pride month, so we're raising awareness of some of the issues the LGBTQ+ community face, celebrating their wins, and shining a spotlight on topics that aren't always discussed. 💡 Hays' Francesca Cary delves into the topic of pronouns in her latest article, explaining what they are, why people use them, how they can help organisations be more diverse and inclusive, and much more. 🌈 Celebrating Diversity in the Workplace 🌟 In today's ever-evolving business landscape, diversity and inclusion are not just buzzwords – they're essential components of success. As a commercial professional, I've witnessed firsthand the incredible impact that a company's commitment to recognizing and giving visibility to the LGBT community can have on its culture, productivity, and bottom line. From my personal experience S&P Global understands that embracing diversity isn't just the right thing to do – it's the smart thing to do. By fostering an environment where every individual feels valued, respected, and empowered to bring their authentic selves to work, we unleash the full potential of our team and drive innovation like never before. When employees feel supported and included, they are more engaged, motivated, and loyal. By championing diversity in all its forms, we attract top talent from diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences, enriching our company culture and fueling our competitive advantage. The commitment to diversity goes beyond mere rhetoric – it's ingrained in everything we do. From the inclusive hiring practices to employee resource groups and allyship initiatives, S&P Global is dedicated to creating a workplace where everyone can thrive, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or expression. As we celebrate Pride Month, let's not just pay lip service to diversity and inclusion – let's take tangible action to build a more equitable and inclusive world for all. Together, we can create workplaces where everyone belongs and where diversity is not just accepted, but celebrated. Join us in making a difference – because when we embrace diversity, we all win. 🏳️🌈 #PrideAtWork #DiversityAndInclusion #InclusiveCulture #PrideMonth #spglobal #spdji #spmexico

Why Do Brands Only Show Their True Colors in June? 🌈 As it is Pride Month, I have been reflecting on the influx of rainbow logos and celebratory posts from brands across all industries. It is heartening to see so much support for the LGBTQ+ community, but it also raises an important question: Why do these expressions of solidarity often disappear once July begins? True allyship means standing by the LGBTQ+ community year-round, not just when it is trending. It is about ensuring inclusive policies, supporting LGBTQ+ employees and customers, and fostering a culture where everyone feels safe and valued every single day. So, as we bid farewell to another Pride Month, let's challenge ourselves and the brands we support to keep the spirit of Pride alive all year. 🌟 #PrideMonth #LGBTQAllyship #InclusiveWorkplaces #YearRoundSupport #TrueColors

A timely reminder (thanks Ivy (Ivanna) Lumia) of our panel dialogue on Wednesday exploring “The DEI Backlash”! Join the LinkedIn Live Serenity in Leadership event here: https://lnkd.in/ewEe7yM4 Is the Backlash real, how much damage is being done and how can we see this trend creatively and positively?
Pride is here! Are you at risk for rainbow washing?! Each year during Pride, companies modify their logo and merch with rainbow colours and images to demonstrate their support for the LGBTQ+ community. But are some of them just monetizing the rainbow? You might be familiar with green or blue washing, but another emerging issue in the ESG-universe to be aware of is rainbow washing—using rainbows in advertising or branding to indicate support for the LGBTQ+ community, but without providing that same support and advocacy for this marginalized group throughout the rest of the year. I had a chance to sit down with the legendary Rob Smith to discuss the critical importance of an organization’s governance of LGBTQ+ matters and what Boards can do to mitigate the risk of rainbow washing. As we celebrate Pride, let’s remember that it’s not just about rainbow-branded imagery or trendy hashtags. It’s about education, awareness, and genuine support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Here are some ways we can make a meaningful impact: Educate: Learn and share the meaning behind Pride Month and its history. Purpose: Ask yourself why you’re supporting Pride. Are we adding value to the conversation? Is your company truly an ally? Year-Round Support: Pride isn’t limited to June. Let’s support LGBTQ+ initiatives throughout the year. Remember, Pride Month is about more than just a colorful logo. Let’s walk the walk and create an inclusive environment every day. 🌟 #PrideMonth #LGBTQIA+ #InclusionMatters
