Reflecting back on an amazing 3 days at the Women's Venture Capital Summit hosted by With Intelligence - Women's Summits. Honored to share the stage with amazing consumer female VC GP's Nmachi Jidenma (General Catalyst), Nicole Johnson (Forerunner) and Shamin Walsh (BAM Ventures), moderated by Tracy Fong (Albourne) to share why we're still betting on Consumer, the different trends, and unique models to investing. Here’s what we talked about👇 💰 Why we're still betting on Consumer: consumer spend is the largest component of GDP and it is grossly underinvested by the majority of VC's. This is a BIG opportunity! 📕 The definition of "Consumer": it isn't just tied to a product, it's anything and everything in-between, from consumer AI and how the consumer interacts with brands and the products themselves. 👩💻 How Consumer and Enterprise are converging: the consumerization of enterprise has unlocked multiple customers to serve. In the Facebook example, in servicing one customer, you create another product to serve a different customer: once a social platform to people now an ads platform to businesses. 💸 Different models to investing: our model of partnering with large strategic acquirers to find the next best consumer brand and General Catalyst investing directly into great talent from high-growth companies and funding ideas. #womeninvc #WVCS24

Data show that when diverse investors and founders receive venture capital, they generate strong returns. And yet, Black, Latino/x, and female funded founders and investors are all underrepresented in the venture ecosystem. This report summarizes the myriad efforts to increase that diversity and to address the underlying inequities that plague the VC ecosystem. #BMHW24 Read the report: https://lnkd.in/gCDyN6G2

“Throw yourself in the deep with master swimmers” That’s what my horoscope told me today and it resonates with me as I head to Half Moon Bay for the Women's Venture Capital Summit hosted by With Intelligence - Women's Summits 🌟 As an emerging fund manager, it's an honour to stand amongst visionary leaders and changemakers who are reshaping the landscape of venture capital through diversity and innovation. At Audaxa Ventures, our thesis is to invest in solutions at the intersection of climate and health. We believe there is unparalleled opportunities for transformative impact at this nexus—and it's diverse women and non-binary founders who are leading the charge with bold, innovative solutions. But it is not just about driving equitable growth; it's about catalyzing sustainable change for our planet and society. And I am looking forward to connecting with fellow attendees and engaging in meaningful discussions, sharing insights and experiences, and forging new partnerships. I am excited to explore how we can collectively amplify the impact of our investments and drive forward a future where diversity fuels innovation. Let's continue to push the boundaries of what's possible when we invest in diversity and innovation. Here's to a fruitful summit and to the amazing work we will accomplish together! #WomensVentureCapitalSummit #ClimateTech #HealthTech #DiversityInVC #Innovation #SustainableInvesting cc Hilary Kilgour Tania Lo

Chai Ventures is a pre-seed and seed stage fund investing in women-led companies solving critical problems with businesses that deliver impact at scale across the high- growth sectors of better world, health and wellness, and human connection. TL;DR: Key Takeaways- 🔥 Hot Take: The increasing influence of women as consumers and investors will drive the emergence of new, tailored business opportunities. 💻 Best Practices: Consistently build relationships, put in the effort, and show appreciation with follow-up thank-you notes. ⚡ Setting Up for Success: Seek out mentors who encourage curiosity and provide support. 💸 Future Outlook: More funds are likely to fail, and junior venture professionals will feel the aftershocks. Expect to see increased transitions from funds to operator roles. You can check out the full writeup linked in the comments. If there is an emerging talent you think I should feature, comment below or send me a DM! #emergingvc #vctalent #vcoutlook
