Last Friday the Global VC Allocator Alliance had the pleasure to partner with European Women in VC to discuss and learn more about the importance of increasing diversity in the venture landscape.   During the session, 🚀Kinga Stanislawska shared insightful market insights and informative data on the landscape of women in VC. The data presented was both inspiring and a call to action for our industry. Following the market insights, we had the pleasure to hear from four inspiring women-led VCs about their funds and strategies. Honored to share the stage with amazing consumer female VC GP's Nmachi Jidenma (General Catalyst), Nicole Johnson (Forerunner) and Shamin Walsh (BAM Ventures), moderated by Tracy Fong (Albourne) to share why we're still betting on Consumer, the different trends, and unique models to investing. Here’s what we talked about👇 💰 Why we're still betting on Consumer: consumer spend is the largest component of GDP and it is grossly underinvested by the majority of VC's. This is a BIG opportunity! 📕 The definition of "Consumer": it isn't just tied to a product, it's anything and everything in-between, from consumer AI and how the consumer interacts with brands and the products themselves. 👩💻  How Consumer and Enterprise are converging: the consumerization of enterprise has unlocked multiple customers to serve. In the Facebook example, in servicing one customer, you create another product to serve a different customer: once a social platform to people now an ads platform to businesses. 💸  Different models to investing: our model of partnering with large strategic acquirers to find the next best consumer brand and General Catalyst investing directly into great talent from high-growth companies and funding ideas. #womeninvc #WVCS24

European Women in VC is launching our European VC Impact Survey for VC partners and LPs, in partnership with Founders Forum Group, to highlight the broad and transformative impact of venture capital on European tech, business, and society. Our fundamental goal is to catalyse the allocation of funding from institutional investors into venture and growth capital. Our survey covers questions on: - How ESG and wider social impact factors into your investment decisions - Impact frameworks and tools used to guide investments - Diversity, Equity and Inclusion within the VC sector itself The results will be used to inform the European VC Impact Report, published in June, launched at SuperVenture by Informa and presented at major tech conferences, including, Founders Forum Group Global and London Tech Week, and distributed amongst our high-profile community of top founders, investors, corporate and government leaders.
