Nvidia is gloriously riding the wave of the generative ai by becoming the de-facto standard in ai chips. While other chip makers are frantically racing to provide alternatives, nvidia seems to be the go to player in the nascent ai industry. Many organizations and governments including singapore have allocated billions to ensure supply of these chip for their ai initiatives. Recently, Nvidia did the unthinkable and reached a market cap higher than Amazon and Tesla combined. I remember a year ago, I attended a small seminar where Nvidia was briefly mentioned and surge of AI was passed as 'a short phase' and that AI only takes time to 'predict the next word'. While we can't go back in time, we can certainly learn from it. What AI has grown into since then has been nothing short of astounding, and the market cap reflects that. Where we go at this point is anyone's guess, but one thing I would encourage all professionals at all levels to do is truly take the time to learn this technology. Look up Copilot, Gemini, GPT, etc. Play with them, talk to them, and instead of dismissing it because you haven't made it work for your immediate needs, try emphasizing with someone who has found profound use with it and approach it from that angle. I firmly believe this technology is here to stay and while it may not effect you directly today, I can't emphasize enough how impactful it will continue to be as we move deeper into 2024. https://lnkd.in/gBWX22NN
