The most important thing you can do in these times is manipulate your digital environment. → What seems to be the only differentiating factor b/w the successful and mediocre in this age is one's choice of consumption. IT'S TOO IMPORTANT. → Immerse yourself in the information that will program you for success. → Unfollow accounts that don’t serve your future. → Buy books that increase your awareness of your potential. → Subscribe to podcasts, newsletters, and blogs that teach you what the schools won’t. → Everywhere you turn, curate a digital environment that makes success inevitable. Program your mind. Treat it like a garden. Your thoughts can be well-kept and beautiful, or they can grow like weeds where you begin to feel life is 'boring' & 'unkind to you. → Just as the Arabs say, “The nature of rain is the same, but it makes thorns grow in the marshes and flowers in the gardens.” #digitalspace #mind #consumption #digitalbranding #letsconnect

Teaser for the next #TakeawayTuesday! This one is a first read through for me and it's got me so pumped! Why? 1) "The First Rule Of Mastery: Stop Worrying What People Think Of You" by Michael Gervais has really flipped my take on other people's opinions. I've been working hard to reduce my reliance on external validation and this just kicked that up a couple of notches. One teaser takeaway? The quote below - to truly reduce FOPO (fear of other people's opinions) we must know ourselves, what we want, and what our values are. Otherwise we'll just be blown about with the winds of change. 2) As part of the book launch team, I've had the privilege of sitting in on several live calls with Dr. Mike. To hear him break down some of the finer points in the book as he answered questions was a master class in how to understand FOPO as well as how to really listen to the question itself to discern underlying intentions and context. He does this in his weekly podcast too - highly recommend "Finding Mastery" if you enjoy deeper conversations about peak performance & psychology. The book comes out this coming Tuesday, but pre-order and take advantage of some bonuses: findingmastery.com/book.

Just completed "Indistractable" by Nir Eyal, and it's truly a game-changer. This insightful read takes a deep dive into the heart of distraction, providing practical strategies to regain control in an era of constant interruptions. These are my top 3 takeaways: 1. Internal Triggers: Uncovering the root causes of distractions was eye-opening. Remarkably, 90% of triggers have nothing to do with external pings, dings, and rings; they're internal! 2. External Triggers: Identifying and managing external distractions is key to reclaiming focus. 3. Timeboxing: The book emphasises the power of planning and effective time allocation to enhance productivity. I've ditched my to do list and managing all my work through my calendar. This book doesn't merely diagnose the issue; it empowers you with actionable steps to reclaim focus and productivity in our distracted world. Nir Eyal's insights are invaluable in today's hyper-connected environment, and I believe developing the skill to become indistractable is one of the most important — for ourselves and to pass on to our children. Have you read into "Indistractable"? Or listed to Nir's podcasts? I'd love to hear your key takeaways! #Indistractable #Focus #Productivity #BookSummary #NirEyal #ProfessionalDevelopment #LifeSkills

Passionate about making meetings more purposeful | Community Creator | Session Facilitator | Professional & Personal Development Coach | WFH: Community (Weds Club!) 🫶🏼
🫶🏽 And this is why …. There’s so many amazing books & podcasts & guides out there which are full of insights & perspective shifting questions for everyone but … you’re not everyone. And that’s the thing with personal development, it’s personal. Finding what works for you, and only you is where the change happens ✨ So you can take all the general learning and knowledge and inspiration, (it all helps) but there comes a point where you’ll need to get specific and ask ‘what’s going on for me?’ Finding out that answer, along with what motivates you & inspires you along with…. the beliefs and stories that are holding up your change journey is the key 🔑 And this is where the time & space Coaching provides its magic! You have the time to really focus, to take all of your knowledge, questions, ideas and use these as the foundation for real, lasting change 🤸🏼♀️ A recent client described this experience as “the moment everything else had been leading up to, the moment of clarity and action”. What’s next for you? And if I can help, DM me and let’s connect 🫶🏽 I would love to help you figure this out and create the life you day dream about x #transformationalcoaching #lifecoaching #transformationallifecoach #lifebydesign #personalgrowth #makethechange #smallstepsbigchanges #slowliving

An interesting thought experiment.. Pareto's principle. The 80/20 Rule. You're likely familiar with the concept that 80% of your outcomes come from 20% of your inputs. But what if you took that thought practically, and overlaid the vision with your 'best life' on top. What if 80% of your success and happinesss came from 20% of: - your diet - your daily activities - the podcasts/books you ingest - the people you surround yourself with And what if doubling down on that 80% had the potential to change the direction of your life. Would you: - think twice about that nightcap? - remove the mindless scrolling and binge watching? - spend more time learning a skill than escaping your life? - find a way to maximize your time with those that push you forward? I don't know if there is a perfect answer considering the numerous individual factors. BUT- it is interesting to think about what could (or should) be removed to continue to be the best version of yourself. #thoughtoftheday #8020rule #personalgrowth

Building Products That Make an Impact | Writer, Researcher, Advisor | Ex-Microsoft, Twilio, BetterUp, Deloitte
I frequently hear people talk about habit formation when building digital products. James Clear, who wrote Atomic Habits, is undoubtedly a leader in the applied habit space. In this podcast he shares his learnings since publishing the book. Some notes: 🌓 1-hour activities for ten-year goals 🚶🏻♂️ Every day should be an addition toward a significant goal 🏙 Environment is more impactful than willpower 👨👩👦👦 There is no single thing that will work for everyone; people should be trained to experiment with what works for them. Habit Loop Cue - make it obvious Craving - make it attractive - surround oneself with an environment where behavior is acceptable Action - make it easy - what is possible on the worst day Reward - make it valuable #habits #behavioralscience #habitformation #productdevelopment https://lnkd.in/ghiwEP6W
