I have had a number of folks reach out from my previous organization expressing interest in Salesforce. I can tell you a number of things that drew me to Salesforce. 1. Technology: I was leveraging Salesforce every day at my previous organization. When I managed a territory covering the entire state of Georgia, I knew if I wasn't leveraging Salesforce, I would've never have been able to achieve my full potential/performance in the field. 2. Organizational Power: Whether it's Salesforce offering the #1 CRM or another market that piques your interest, I was always encouraged by others to look at the top 5 providers in that space. With Salesforce it was a no-brainer and it always helps to have a brand behind you that people know and trust. 3. Culture and Compensation: Salesforce offered a much more competitive compensation with an opportunity for personal growth. I have been surrounded by a culture and people over the last 4+ years that make me strive to be my best. 4. Always Run To, Don't Run From: I often hear people tell me, "I just have to get out of this organization or this situation" and often that urgency leads to picking a role that only checks a few boxes. My advice is don't just try to run from your current employment situation, but find to a company and opportunity that is more exciting, helping you grow (personally and your wallet lol), and aligns to your core values. Attracting and hiring high performing Salesforce sales professionals is hard 😑 I regularly speak to Leaders from Salesforce partners who say “We are looking for top Sales people who have strong relationships with AE’s at Salesforce”.. but when I ask: “Why would someone who is performing well with another partner, by utilising their relationships at Saleforce, want to leave their current role to join here?”… it often takes the hiring manager by surprise.. There of course are reasons Salespeople may want to leave one role for another, like: 📍A better delivery team and more support through sales cycles 📍Better brand and positioning in market 📍Larger deal sizes and opportunities 📍Better career opportunities and progression 📍Higher pay, commission and benefits 📍Mentors to learn from But if you are hiring for a Salesforce sales role (or any role for that matter), don’t just think about what you need from them.. really think about what they can gain from joining you. 🔥 Many people are looking for their first step into the Salesforce Ecosystem but are often put off that Junior roles have some daunting requirements such as 3 years experience, a PD2 certification, experience configuring CPQ and a range of other unrealistic expectations. We were all Juniors once, even those much coveted CTA's were once Juniors with less than 3 years experience or a list of certifications. If you are a hiring manager, an agency recruiter or an internal recruiter I urge you to find Junior Salesforce people for your Junior roles. Be realistic with your expectations, requirements, and your pay. Give Junior Salesforce people a chance... you might be surprised by the raw talent you find...
