We recognize the financial commitment it takes to make the next step. For bold leaders at CFG Bank and Maui County FCU, they saw value in the investment.
At CFG, their goal was to attract talent, retain talent, and create a company work culture balanced with fun and hard work. The 97,000 sq.ft. project was designed with their core values and main goal in mind, resulting in a space that turns heads and encourages collaboration.
At Maui County Federal Credit Union, their numbers were exploding. They needed more space to accommodate their growth. With a parking lot full to the brim, it became evident in their discovery session that they needed a completely new ground-up facility. Complete with flexible workspaces and a drive-up facility, this project embodies a value important to them–hospitality.
Two different goals. One major result: growth. At NewGround, we partner with leaders like you to create spaces aimed at employee satisfaction, company growth, and innovation.

ESG & DEI is an ‘AND’…a method to add to core business strategies…NOT replace them.
Lately there’s been significant push back as some firms have gone way too far and replaced thoughtful strategic ideas with performative ESG/DEI mandates.
Lets not throw out the baby with the bath water…
ESG/DEI does work…but not as a singular defining objective. They work in tandem with comprehensive business approaches.
Just one man’s opinion
Let’s GO!
At FSI OneVoice, Julius Buchanan spoke with Alex David, President and CEO of Stifel Independent Advisors. Steering the firm with dedication for almost three years, David's leadership has spurred ongoing recruitment triumphs.
His journey, enriched by a substantial tenure at Wells Fargo FiNet and his influential role as Chair Emeritus of the Association of African-American Financial Advisors underscores his commitment to excellence and diversity in the financial advisory sphere.
Leaving Columbus yesterday after a few days of our department leaders grouping together to not only collaborate, learn and connect around how we can improve personally but also continue our pursuit of building an ELITE organization that truly is different in the mortgage industry.
So proud of how far we’ve come and seeing this level of growth over the last 18 months ths I’ve been here alone. Our team continues to attract top talent and develop them when they get here. Candidly some areas we saw we can really improve and take this to the next level. That’s where the EQ and MQ come into play we discussed at length. It was great to have everyone from operations to compliance to secondary, licensing, branch success and more gathered and unifying as we grow. This IS the vision casting and foundation that will allow us and fuel our next stage of growth.
Years ago I was able to spend a day with Dr Kevin Elko (thank you Micheal Burt) who worked closely with Alabama Football for years and he honed in on the importance of language, the words we use and how neurons that fire together wire together. That’s how GREAT teams and leaders are built over time.
A few key statements, standards and phrases we clung on to….(Working on these as we build this and share with our team).
🔑Managers TELL, Leaders ASK - leaders ask great questions & engage others.
🔑You/We have unlimited potential - this belief drives constant training and growth
🔑We take ultimate responsibility - this ownership principle permeates and drives actions.
⚔️ The rate of the pack is defined by the pace of the leader.

Thank you to Jim Beqaj of Beqaj International Recruiting for speaking at Phoenix Executive Network on “Unlocking Success by Finding the Right Role with the Right Organization.” Jim discussed creating an infomercial around four key questions: What are you good at? Who are the people you work best with? How do you resolve conflict? Describe your perfect day. Use this to create your target-rich environment, selecting those organizations that need your skills and where there are more people like you.
Jim is the country's top advisor on human capital. As the former President and Chief Operating Officer of Wood Gundy, Jim has personally hired over 900 people in his business career. Daniel Wilson: Getting to Know The Latest Addition to the Team 🎉
Last week, we announced that Daniel Wilson had joined One.funding. Today, we're excited to share a little more about him through a set of fun and insightful questions we ask all of our team members and that tie into our core values.
Here’s what Dan had to say:
We tune in
If you could have dinner with any famous person (past or present), who would it be and what would you ask them?
"Dinner with Joe Rogan would be fascinating! I’d love to ask him about his approach to curiosity and learning—how he chooses the topics and guests for his podcast. I’d also want to discuss the impact of social media on conversation and culture, and how he balances different viewpoints in his discussions. Plus, I’d be curious about his thoughts on the future of podcasting and media in general."
We inspire action
What’s your “superpower” that helps you jump into action when things get busy?
"My superpower would definitely be my ability to stay systematic and organised. When things get busy, I can quickly break tasks down into manageable steps, prioritise them, and tackle each one methodically. This helps me maintain focus and reduces stress, even in hectic situations. I also rely on routines to keep everything running smoothly, which allows me to adapt and respond efficiently."
We open doors
If you could open any door (real or imaginary) for someone, what would it be and why?
"If I could open a door, it would be one for my mum. It would lead to a world of relaxation and rejuvenation. This door would provide her with access to moments of peace, self-care, and joy—whether it’s a serene retreat, a chance to pursue her hobbies, or simply a space where she can unwind and be herself. I’d want her to feel appreciated and to focus on herself for a change."
We keep moving
What’s one thing you’ve recently learned that totally blew your mind?
"Your brain is constantly eating itself—that’s one of the most mind-blowing things I’ve learned recently!"
Our values as a playlist
If our values were a playlist, what song would you pick to represent one of them and why?
"For 'We inspire action,' I’d choose "Man in the Mirror" by Michael Jackson. The song emphasises personal responsibility and the power of individuals to make a difference. Its message encourages listeners to take action and create change, starting with themselves."
Dan has quickly shown why he’s such a great fit for us here at One.funding. His ability to stay calm under pressure, focus on the details, and keep moving forward aligns perfectly with our values. We’re thrilled to have him leading the charge with his passion for growth and helping us deliver for our clients!

📣 Welcome to the team, Daniel Wilson📣
We're thrilled to introduce the newest member of our New Business Associate (NBA) team at One.funding! 🙌
Dan joins us with experience from his time at BT Group, where he excelled in their retention team. So, why’s that relevant? In business finance, understanding what keeps clients on board and building strong relationships is just as important as winning new ones. His sharp focus on retention, paired with his ambition and energy, means he knows exactly how to connect with customers and solve their challenges.
At One.funding, we value that tenacity, curiosity, and drive—and Daniel has it all. We’re confident he’ll bring fresh ideas, relentless energy, and a winning mindset to our team. We can’t wait to see him thrive in this new role! 💪
Here's what Adam Aspden, Head of One.asset, has to say about Daniel joining:
"Daniel’s passion and ability to really understand what customers need makes him a fantastic addition to the team. His experience in retention gives him a unique perspective that’ll help us push boundaries and create lasting client relationships. We’re lucky to have him on board."
Join us in giving him a warm welcome. We're excited for what's to come!
