As reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, financial analyst is one of the fastest growing professions. In challenging economic circumstances, businesses require professionals who can assess financial risks and advise on cost-saving strategies. Financial analysts provide this expertise, helping firms navigate market shifts and make informed decisions based on rigorous analysis. However, there are challenges in hiring financial analysts in different regions. GEOR (Global Employer Of Record) experts can provide guidance on this. #eor #employerofrecord #finance #analytics #financialanalysis #hiring #recruitment

A number of emails have just dropped into my inbox from recruiters to say they are hiring for Business Analysts. Sadly the salaries and packages, leave a lot to be desired. The Business Analyst position is the single most important hire on any programme or project. Unfortunately it is treated by most HR and Recuiters like a clerical position. Which is a sure fire indicator that they and their clients aren’t serious about change and transformation. Which is why their projects will fail. As the winds of change get stormier, the foundational skillset of Requirements Engineering is becoming more and more important to establish the direction of travel. Which begs the question, Are you working with the right people?

🌟 Highlight Abilities Not Experience 🌟 The hiring systems built in the 20th century are failing us, and causing us to miss out on people with incredible potential. Instead, here are the tools & strategies we need to identify tomorrows high performers: 1️⃣ Expand your search! 2️⃣ Hire for performance! 3️⃣ Get the bigger picture! If you're hiring a data analyst, give them a spreadsheet of historical data and ask them for their key insights. If you're a canidate, don't wait for an employer to ask. Seek out ways to showcase your unique skills and abilities outside of just the standard resume and cover letter. 🙌 "Let's stop equating experience with ability, credentials with competence. Let's stop settling for the safe, familiar choice and leave the door open for someone who could be amazing. We could live in a world where people are seen for what they are truly capable of, and have the opportunity to realize their full potential." Helping you find top talent through specialized recruiting strategies | Expert Headhunter | Senior Recruiting Manager at Frederick Fox
Me: “How’s the FP&A Analyst search going?” Director of FP&A: “Slow. We aren’t finding many candidates in our region with the multi-entity retail experience we’re targeting.” Wish I could say that this is a one off comment, but this week I've heard this same sentiment 3x. Qualified candidate flow is low. Searches are slow and expected to take a long time to fill. Job boards aren’t producing. What's the cost of keeping the role open? Delayed financial reporting? Inaccurate forecasting? Increased workload for your existing staff? Missed strategic opportunities? When you need niche experience like this in your region you need to build a detailed market map. 1. Get to know all the companies that do multi-entity retail. 2. Learn what titles they use. 3. Find those analysts. 4. Create messaging that speaks to them. 5. Reach out, network & invite them to apply. If you don’t have a data & transparent based recruiting strategy, your search is almost guaranteed to be slow. FP&A candidates (or any in accounting & finance) almost never appear out of the blue. The best ones are usually employed, rarely applying to jobs, and need to be enticed to make a career change. When the supply is less than the demand, you have to have a proactive recruiting strategy in place. If you do that, searches can start taking days or weeks, not months or years.

Look, I need a job. I don't care if you've seen news reports that 135,000 or 415,017 jobs were added this month. In all honesty, i don't know where those jobs are or how to apply. I have 237 applications submitted through LinkedIn and Indeed. I'm paying for LinkedIn premium so that I can get more data to work with. I have had 0 calls, not interviews but even a call for one. Really? Is a 4 year degree so important that you'd hire a 20 year old for basic business/data analyst positions over someone without a degree that has proven he can succeed in that role? Plus has certifications for much more? Is your AI screening my resume for a degree that doesn't matter? Why do you need a bachelor's to be an Administrative Assistant. People aren't going into $40k debt so that they can get a job running for coffee and scheduling meetings, which pays so little they can't afford the debt they got into for the degree. If you own a business, want someone who with happily work their butt off, has leadership experience in fortune 100 companies, project management qualifications, a culinary degree... please, let me know. Otherwise, I'll see you on a random corner in Gainesville with a sign reading: "Army, Military Police, veteran I tried, and still trying but, Will work for livable wage. Handouts welcome, but not encouraged"

🎭 Nephews vs Competency 🚀 Every cycle is the same.. 1) 2000s : "my nephew can make that website.." (it wasn't another 10 or 15 years until it was that easy); 2) Early 2010s : "my nephew can run that digital campaign.." (the result was campaigns with poor performance, ad fraud, bad targeting, etc.); 3) Late 2010s : "my nephew can manage that project.." (poor media plans, lack of understanding of #marketing channels, project "holes" everywhere); 4) 2020s : "my nephew is a robot and we can automate everything locally.." (the result is megalomaniacs running the show and selling businesses into thinking they can simply dismiss global remote talent, while getting the same results "back to the office style" for a fraction of the workforce and costs). "Long live the nephew" 📉 🏆 Supposedly.. #AI promises to be the "nephew or nephews". Let's not be "dismissive" of nephews (or nieces). But there's also a lesson there somewhere. "Effort and courage are not enough without purpose and direction." -- JFK Balance is the reason.🧘🏻♂️ Borderless is the way. 🕉️ Eventually everything connects. 🌐 #innovation #creativity #digitalmarketing #economy #humanresources #technology
