One day my tech lead at Meta showed up for work at 12PM in her pajamas, joining us for lunch as her 1st task of the day. What happened next shows why Meta is now worth +$1 trillion: Nobody cared. There was no reason to care. She was a great tech lead who wrote amazing code, delivered projects on-time, and was always available to help others. This is the fundamental reason why Meta engineering is so successful: It's all about impact. If you can land the impact, everyone is happy. On the flip side, more traditional companies waste their engineers' precious mental energy on adhering to strict working hours or wearing certain clothes. This is why Meta makes $500,000+ in profit per engineer, more than 99% of tech companies. It doesn't bog down their people with useless tasks. I am so happy that this made it's way to me. I couldn't love this more. As I have written, I struggle even with the word leadership as it connotes such a patriarchal, colonized way of working. Innovation and productivity gets derailed in most cases. Inspiration and Innovation: My Visit to Meta's Headquarters Visiting Meta's headquarters in Silicon Valley left an indelible impression on me! 🌐 The office space is astounding in its scale: it feels like an entire shopping mall filled with restaurants, cozy work zones, and numerous meeting rooms. Each room has a tablet displaying the booking schedule, making the work process highly organized and transparent. A special highlight was meeting with a Meta employee responsible for the development of Meta Glasses — innovative AI-powered glasses. She shared unique insights into the company's processes, showcasing the scale and innovation at Meta. What particularly inspired me was the company's culture of openness: everyone is free to express their ideas at any level, interact with different departments, and participate in their activities. This atmosphere of freedom and support fosters the growth and realization of each employee's initiatives. We want to educate our partners on our Meta for work solutions: Quest for Business, quest devices and our use cases. This will allow our partners to successfully reach out to their customers and properly position our products on how it will benefit their workforce.Outcome: We had about 100 participants join us throughout our EMEA Partner Day Roadshow.
