#Startups can be stereotyped for working crazy hours in a lawless office environment. UNCW CIE has experienced no shortage of #entrepreneur shenanigans.

Exciting Update: In Maryland, SEDI founders are redefining success in the startup ecosystem. TEDCO's Social Impact Funds are fostering sustainable growth among socially and economically disadvantaged entrepreneurs, emphasizing resilience over rapid expansion. Companies like VirgilHR, Escalate, and NasaClip are leading examples, leveraging targeted funding and robust business models to navigate challenging funding landscapes and achieve long-term viability. There's only one law in startup: if you survive, you win. Be paranoid. Avoid failure to survive. Don't try to be more right, just be less wrong. Avoiding failure leads to success. The winner entrepreneur is usually the one who makes the least mistakes. Bad has more power. One bad hire affects a startup more than the whole team. Single toxic investor can destroy the whole startup idea. An otherwise perfect meal can be wrecked by one cockroach on the plate. Win by not failing. #medal

In the world of startup companies, securing adequate funding is often the key to success. One of the earliest stages of funding is known as the pre-seed round, which helps entrepreneurs transform their ideas into viable businesses. It is crucial at this stage to work with an attorney to ensure key legal terms are negotiated. #startup #entrepreneur #preseed #funding

The Anatomy of Injustice tells the story of Edward Lee Elmore, a man wrongfully convicted. It demonstrates the inequality that is built into the justice system. It also demonstrates the need for advocates and programs like CSL to ensure that returning citizens have the support they need as they navigate re-entry. #reentryreadinglist #REEP #RestorativeJustice #citystartuplabs #startups #startuplife #startup #startupgrind #atriumhealth #diversity #ceo #motivational #leadership #marketing #blackentrepreneurs #entrepreneurlife #entrepreneurs #entrepreneurship #entrepreneursofinstagram #businessowner #socialentrepreneur #10yearanniversary

Words are essential tools in law! Legal language is incredibly important. Sometimes words are only relevant to law (they have no other meaning elsewhere). Other times very common terms take on a different meaning altogether when used in law. This week’s #LegalLingo is the term “Startup.” SWIPE 👉🏻for the definition. Startups can be founded by one or many entrepreneurs. They’re usually self funded but many seek outside investment from sources including friends, family, venture capitalists, crowd funding or loans. Startups are also commonly called ‘growth stage companies’ and industry disruptors. At Litton Legal, we love working with startups to legal proof their venture. If you’re launching a startup (or perhaps have one off the ground already) we can help you protect yourself legally. Send our friendly team an email on hello@littonlegal.com.au #startup #entrepreneur #entrepreneurship #companylaw #corporatelaw #commerciallaw #commerciallawyer

Hot take: I can be sure of one thing that assembly line serial entrepreneurs are not going to be the ones delivering something landmark. We all in the entrepreneurial scene avoid talk that criticizes things, even when it is well deserved. Mayo Accelerator deserves to be put on pedestal and mocked for its outrageous Hubris & requirements. It is the height of hubris to assume that “guidance” is what will make or break for founders that have already pulled together $500k, invented and built tech, and they are asked $80k to be a part of the accelerators. Every founder should “unequivocally” be able to condemn and criticize them for their “Inverse YC approach” which is morally reprehensible and offers little more than Kumbaya to founders that actually build things. Mat Sherman I hope all other founders show the courage necessary to force Mayo to actually have a genuine and good accelerator beyond virtue signalling. I have no qualms lumping and lambasting my Alma Mater ASU, as it is in the wrong for being part of this travesty. It should prop up and support entrepreneurs, not be a bottom feeder that glorifies itself by association.
