From the Zonta International Council of Europe Committee: One of the key assets of the Council of Europe Istanbul Convention is its Monitoring Mechanism. It assesses how well the requirements of the Convention are put into practice by state parties. GREVIO, the Group of Experts, monitors the situation in the countries through visits and draws up reports evaluating the implementation of the Convention. Did you know that NGOs play a key role in this process? NGOs and civil society are strategic partners in the implementation of the Istanbul Convention on national level. Zontians can play a valuable part in providing information and short reports of non-compliance to GREVIO either via email or online. For detailed information please read the concise overview provided by the ZI CoE Committee on the Monitoring Mechanism: The Council of Europe: The Role of Civil Society on the Monitoring of the Istanbul Convention and Anti-Trafficking Convention under Council of Europe Tools under My Zonta on the website. https://ow.ly/b8hx50QW8BX
