Well done to the students of Ballymoney National School who decided to make a community leaflet to help aid newcomers to Ballineen to navigate the services available to them and to encourage villagers to explore their local resources. They particularly wanted them to be able to live sustainably so included information about bus services, local recycling centres, local library services and more. Carbery was delighted to contribute in a small way to this great project and all the leaflets were hand delivered by students. Great job 5th and 6th class! This project was part of 'Design for Change' which is the primary section of the Young Social Innovators Programme. Some of the class with members of our Sustainability are team pictured below.

Unlocking the Power of Community: A Path to Sustainable Success In today's rapidly evolving world, the power of community cannot be underestimated. At Crink Private Limited and Country Clay, we've discovered that fostering strong connections and nurturing a sense of community are pivotal to achieving sustainable success. 1. Collaboration Over Competition: Building a collaborative environment where ideas and resources are shared freely leads to innovation and growth. At Crink, they empower parents as change-makers through masterclasses and mentoring, creating a supportive network where experiences and knowledge are exchanged. 2. Sustainability Through Tradition: With Country Clay, they are reviving the art of ceramic pottery, supporting local artisans, and promoting sustainable practices. By embracing our rich heritage and infusing it with contemporary needs, we've created products that are not only beautiful but also eco-friendly and non-toxic. This blend of tradition and innovation is our cornerstone for sustainability. 3. Empathy and Support: In our journey, empathy has been a driving force. Understanding and addressing the needs of our community has helped us build meaningful connections. The 'I'm Safe' app, designed to ensure women's safety, is a testament to how technology can be leveraged to create a safer, more supportive environment. 4. Education and Empowerment: Knowledge is power, and empowering others through education has a ripple effect. With our homeschooling programs, we're not just teaching children but also equipping parents with the tools to foster holistic development, thereby creating a cycle of continual growth and empowerment. 5. Embracing Change: Adaptability is key to thriving in any industry. Our transition from engineering to education, and now to promoting sustainable products, showcases the importance of embracing change and continuously evolving to meet new challenges. By focusing on collaboration, sustainability, empathy, education, and adaptability, we can build a thriving, supportive community that drives lasting success. Let's harness the power of community to create a brighter, more sustainable future together! #CommunityBuilding #Sustainability #Collaboration #Empowerment #Innovation #Education #Support

By creating a clear and transparent system that assigns value to community contributions, it provides a tangible, trackable proxy for social value creation. As we continue to explore new ways to regenerate local economies and create inclusive, sustainable communities, the Potteries Pound could become a key tool in redefining how we measure success. If you're interested in learning more about how the Potteries Pound is reshaping the way we think about social value, join us for the official launch of our White Paper on 9th October at Keele University. Welcome to our dream future y'all ✨ it is BRIGHT when small, locally-led, community-based-organizations are given the funding, support, and resources they need to shine 🌞 Thank you to Lior from The Roddenberry Foundation for so solidly driving home this argument in the Stanford Social Innovation Review, calling out the entrenched and pervasive bias in favor of organizations at scale, and putting your weight behind small - yet mighty - orgs 💪 https://lnkd.in/g4Hq5CA3

Growing an ecosystem for Self-designed learning/ Promoting alternative learning models/ Advocate STEAM. I help young innovative educators build coaching abilities, influence & social leadership.
A common saying in education circles is, “We need to prepare kids for jobs that don’t yet exist.” First and foremost if we want “innovative students,” we will need “innovative educators” Do you think nonprofits working for teachers' support need to build a culture of innovation inside their organization? Please relish knowing how organizations can empower learning, unleash talent, and lead a culture of creativity. #innovation #organizationalculture #organizationaldevelopment #creativityunleashed #teachingandlearning Sanjhi Sikhiya Project DEFY

Empowering Through Sustainability: A Call to Action I’m excited to share an initiative close to my heart that reflects our commitment to sustainability and community service at school. Recently, many students replaced their school bags in our school, and instead of discarding the old ones, we’re giving them a new purpose through reuse. My mission is to collect these old, usable school bags and distribute them to children in need, creating a meaningful impact on both the environment and our community. Here’s how this initiative will make a difference: • Environmental Impact: By reusing school bags that would otherwise end up in landfills, we’re contributing to a circular economy and reducing waste. It’s a small yet powerful step towards minimizing our environmental footprint, aligning with our goal of sustainability. • Social Impact: Many children in underprivileged communities struggle to afford basic school supplies, including bags. By redistributing these old bags, we are providing essential resources that will enhance their educational experience, making school more accessible and dignified for them. • Student Engagement: This project offers students the opportunity to actively participate in community service, fostering empathy, leadership, and responsibility. By involving them in collection, sorting, and distribution, we nurture a generation that cares for both people and the planet. Here’s the plan: 1. Collection points across the school for easy drop-off. 2. An awareness campaign through posters and emails to engage students, parents, and the community. 3. A team of student volunteers managing every step of the process. 4. Collaboration with local charities to ensure the bags reach children in need. I firmly believe this initiative will create a ripple effect of positive change—supporting both environmental sustainability and social good. It’s a project that embodies the spirit of community, and I’m incredibly proud to lead it. Looking forward to working with like-minded students, teachers, and the broader community to turn this vision into reality. Let’s build a more sustainable and inclusive future together! Thank you Hill Spring International School, Pratibha Mirashi Wilhelmina Athaide fostering such values in us as a part of the school mission. Thank you team @Udaanindiafoundation for giving me the opportunity learning to make difference. #Sustainability #CommunityService #CircularEconomy #YouthLeadership #YouLeadIndia #PositiveImpact #EnvironmentalResponsibility

The "Social Impact" theme explores how individuals and organizations address pressing issues to foster positive change locally and globally. It emphasizes socially responsible practices, philanthropy, and community engagement. The aim is to inspire critical analysis of the consequences of actions on society and encourage innovative solutions to societal challenges. Serving as a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and learning, the theme promotes a deeper understanding of each person's role in contributing to a more socially conscious and equitable world. Additionally, it addresses student well-being, including hormonal and mental health, and integrates diverse discussions on social activism and philanthropy. The overarching goal is to propel students towards transformative change and underscore their vital role in shaping a more equitable and socially conscious future. Registrations will be open soon.
