Thrilled to announce a sustainability milestone at Solmax: We've pioneered a process to recycle MIRAFI Geolon HMi-5, turning temporarily applied geosynthetics into new Solmax geosynthetics within Europe. This step towards a circular economy underscores our pioneering commitment to minimizing environmental impact and sets a new industry benchmark. As a Sustainability Manager EMEA Solmax and a firm advocate for environmental stewardship, I am thrilled with this groundbreaking achievement. In our pursuit to minimize environmental impact, we have successfully navigated the complexities of preventing temporarily applied geosynthetics from contributing to landfill waste or incineration. This journey, driven by purposeful collaboration (TenneT TSO B.V., Strukton Civiel, Mobilis TBI, Koninklijke Oosterhof Holman), has led to a significant milestone in advancing towards a circular economy. A $26 million Series A funding round positions clean tech firm Carbon Upcycling to advance carbon capture and utilization projects at Cemex’s Rugby, U.K., and Ash Grove Cement’s Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, plants.
